  1. Heard this on the radio a couple times today, and that station has Killing Floor in rotation. It's nice to hear these songs while I'm at work. Honestly it's still kinda blowing my mind that Slash combined a blues album with another 'all star guest' album, two things I wished he'd do for years, and so far these songs have turned out as good as I dared imagine them being. Great band, great production, great choices of guests, classic songs... Such a refreshing change from the last couple SMKC records.

  2. Came here for an update on the case, leaving with the knowledge that fans collect his band-aids.

  3. At one point at some 2022/23 gig, in the middle of a song, he walked towards the side of the stage where she was sitting, hugged (and maybe kissed) her, and then walked back and continued the song. I mean, I wish the man the best and it’s none of my business anyway, and if this is what he needs to feel good, then kudos and all that, but like you say, it’s definitely bizarre. On one of these photos, she reminds me of a tick on someone’s back. Or something like the overprotective mother from the Pink Floyd’s The Wall animations, if you know what I mean. Weird. But hey, if this is what keeps him going... Anyway, I definitely haven't seen anything like that with any other of those rock stars, that's for sure.

  4. Or he could carry the bags in one hand and hold the umbrella in the other. No big deal either.

  5. Great Show tonight in Berlin. This time with Don't Damn Me. Great live track. Rocket Man was beautiful. Don't like the octave change in some songs like Starlight or Anastasia from Myles Kennedy. But i had fun.

  7. but it's not that there's nothing going on with Gn'R in regards to a new album because of the side projects taking place. the side projects are happening cause Slash and Duff can't wait for Axl to make his move and Slash and Duff are super prolific musicians while Axl is the opposite of that. I don't think any product born out of the love of the process is a waste of time and energy. see it from the point of view of the musician. Slash for example, must really enjoy coming up with new compositions all the time and sharing it with his fans and performing the material live, spicing it up by not just doing one thing as his side project. Duff is the same, working with different and talented musicians like Shooter Jennings or Loaded or his solo stuff. I'm sure if/when Axl is ready, Slash would make Gn'R a priority when it comes to new music, but as far as we know, that hasn't happened (yet?)

  9. Sorry, without reading your post. My post wasn’t meant serious. I think this whole thread and conversation is laughable. I don’t care if Beta’s holding him the umbrella or if she’s giving him a handjob. That’s their issue and I really don’t care 😂

  10. That's not a very specific prediction, might as well have said "things will get worse" and you could point to anything to say it's been validated. Also you had people unable to retire at 65 in 1991, as well.

  11. Too bad he didn't predict that there would only be one more Guns n' Roses studio album after UYI (2 if you count TSI) so that fans could have been prepared.

  12. Using AI is NOT creativity and using it to create a "new" GNR song is NOT a new GNR song only the humans in GNR can do that. No offense but that AI comment is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

  13. I think Chinese is an amazing album, and it's way better than TSI. It's actually my favorite album from GNR. But all this shit is subjective

  14. you seem to be under the impression that TB can influence Axl into releasing music. I don't think anyone can tell Axl what to do, especially when it comes to new music. in a way, they are just a reflection of what Axl wants. it's like this cause this is how Axl prefers it to be. Gn'R sells nostalgia, and as long as they play SCOM and the hits, they're pretty much good to go. they don't need to release new music, though I would love it if they do of course. it's not the main product they are selling and hasn't been for quite a while now.

  15. Would be great, but I don't see that as a real option. Beta is basically Axl's surrogate mother, and Nando is, well, her son. They've lived with him in his own house - they're not going anywhere. The only hope I'd see in this would be if Slash/Duff interfered a little bit and tried suggesting something to Axl every now and then. Some incentive on their part could set at least some things in motion.

  16. Because he literally said, "They didn't want to split the loot equally." More here about what Izzy said and reactions: 37. JUNE 2016-MARCH 2017: THE NOT IN THIS LIFETIME TOUR IS A SUCCESS (a-4-d.com)

  17. You’re absolutely right, of course. They are terrible at this. But I was gonna say "mind you, you should expect the local forum police coming at you soon with such stuff as they don’t owe us anything, people just keep complaining, move on, etc." – and voila, there you go. There’s undoubtedly loads of material that could be released, even if in some inferior Youtube quality, but Axl just won’t release old stuff, and TB - the so-called management team - are living the golden life, so why would they rock the boat by nagging him about anything. At least we have bootlegs...

  18. I can't remember if that was brought up in this thread before, but why the actual fck it's so difficult for this band and that thing its called TB do some stuff to keep peoples interest in the band? Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Motley Crue are doing this vault thing were they upload stuff from their archives (photos, documents, tour stuff, contracts etc) and it's great, you see stuff that you never thought you'll ever see. I'm sure Axl has almost everything from 1985 till this day just getting dusty in his garage. Also it would be a great chance for all the AFD guys to work together even if it's not music but to celebrate in a way the bands legacy. The 40th anniversary of GN'R is on the way and it would be great for such thing to happen.

  19. It could also be a mistake and no one got it at that price. I once ordered something online that was like 80 percent off. I paid it and all, 15 minutes later the seller canceled the order as they couldn't deliver it. Checked the site again and it was back at its normal price.

  20. "Intimate" inflation? I was expecting £20-30...if you don't have a hit song and it's a side-project and you're more a name, usually tickets are by standard, cheaper.... I like Duffs new stuff but £55 is getting close to what I paid for Green Day with whole day of other big names!

  21. Kind of hard to keep track of what Slash is doing, even for me being on the forum ahah. I saw a video of Slash touring with Myles recently and I looked at recent setlists, thought he was touring with him. Too many side projects. Sorry if those are covers, didn't know. Still, that doesn't change the fact that I have a hard time understanding the point. I just feel it's wasted energy and talent. Kind of like some bands releasing a new album every year or every two years, more often than not it's pointless. I'd prefer Axl, Slash & Duff working on a real album, for 3, 4, 5 years if they need to and committing to it. Not doing ANYTHING except focusing on their own band. If everyone goes on tour, doing their side projects and albums/covers/whatever, how can they ever work together properly? It's just something I don't understand. So again, a lot of people blame Axl, but from what I'm seeing, the problem seems to be that everyone is doing whatever they want beyond Gn'R Tours.

  22. It came from Alan Niven, and although he dislikes Axl with a passion he probably wouldn't make up a negative quote from Slash about Axl (only used it for all it's worth). Alan Niven: I mean, there's a curly-head friend of mine who pointed out recently it takes eight of them to keep Axl happy and moving. But I would make the observation that he's just done two years of very substantial touring. So you have to tip your hat to Team Brazil for getting that done. Well done. 23. I mean, it also is human nature to not swan dive into a crowd of people because some dude had a camera, or to refrain from biting the leg of a security guard in an airport - Axl is not your typical human and so I don't know if projecting what someone *thinks* a person would potentially naturally be inclined to do with art holds any water I don't know if Axl has anything in the Vaults or not, but if he doesn't - it isn't because he isn not acting the way you think a person should if they had material in the Vault lol

  24. The whole relationship with Beta is very bizarre. I always get the impression that he’s completely dependent on her
    1 point
  25. Maybe that was more inconvenient to them than using both his hands to balance the bags and then Beta using one of her free hands to cover both their heads from the rain? You know, like what normal people would do. I consider myself a strong enough man and I often use both my hands when carrying more than one bag, actually, I almost always use both my hands for that. People complaining about Beta shielding Axl while he carried bags is probably one of the stupidest thing fans have taken issue with here for a long time. Or hey, to be a proper gentleman Axl should carry both the bags himself (of course, a lady shouldn't have to carry stuff, not even umbrellas), lifted his head backward so he looked straight up, opened his mouth wide, and then jammed the umbrella handle down his throat making him into the equivalent of a human parasol. That way Beta wouldn't have to do anything at all. Of course, he would have to use his feet to find his path back home, he couldn't see anything when looking straight up, searching for the pathway and avoiding the trees and grass, because he couldn't dare ask Beta to help him with directions. She is there just for companionship.

  27. It's because he worked with that weird artist, Ron English (who also did the WoF cover). I thought it would look so much better if they just had a nice pic of the band with the logo above them or something like that, instead of this weird tacky stuff.
    1 point
  28. Sure, but that would mean she would have to carry the bags. Remember, Axl got his hands full carrying stuff?

  29. I'm with you, the attempts to raise the retirement age are unacceptable. I'm just concerned with the societal tendency to engage in mystical thinking, whether about premonitions/predictions or other things.

  30. As much as we all wish it wasn’t so, it appears the only real creative outlet for Duff and Slash are to release their own albums outside of Guns. Sure, they worked on some old songs that were previously recorded by another band, and I sincerely hope we get a compilation album with some more unheard tracks. But they didn’t create those songs. The next album Duff puts out will consist of songs he recorded or updated during the lockdown specifically for his own solo projects.

  31. Why read it and add to it then? You seem to not like it here, have you tried other forums?
    1 point
  32. It was only pulled from CD due to time constraint reasons, so I don't see it not coming out, other than for Slash or Duff saying this is shit to Axl, which they won't do when they even said yes to The General lol.
    1 point
  33. Well it is a bit diva-ish to get someone to hold an umbrella over you whilst you go to the end of your driveway to fetch a parcel - normal people would just run out there and get it. On their own. Another thing is - the dynamic between Axl and Beta it it often seems (SEEMS) like she’s scurrying around after him, she very often is carrying all the bags on tour planes whilst he carries none for example. So it is kinda sad to see that that behaviour carries on whilst they’re at home and not just on tour. It seems a bit like he belittles her and she just goes along with it.

  35. Yes there was, GNR played a journalist a cassette demo of it in when they were in London in 1987.
    1 point
  36. I think you missed the point completely. These new songs aren't either considered for GNR nor for the Conspirators. It’s a new project on his own and Slash organised a whole blues festival which he tours through the States supported by other blues artist such as Gov’t Mule. The baking band that recorded that album is as well the band he tours it with, while the rhythm guitarist, Tash Neil, will be the lead singer. Edit: I don’t even bother to go through the personal taste part.

  37. I feel like I’m in the minority, but I personally like “Killing Floor” MUCH more… maybe I have to give this one a couple more listens.

  38. This comment from Youtube lol: @Nitromessiah 7 hours ago This is one of the worst version of this classic song I've ever heard. Slash wrote 1-3 great licks, and has made an entire career off of it. He's just average at best, but he looks cool doing it.

  39. Chinese Democracy can be called many things, good or bad - I do think it qualifies as "creative" either way though, no?

  40. I will always consider writing new music and lyrics more creative than just releasing a covers album, but hey, you do you.

  41. In way yes it does but it was never released. You can find it on youtube very easy. It has the vibe of "Perhaps". Live + backstage footage

  43. They played Don’t Damn Me in London last night, was worth the price of admission alone imho

  44. At this point, I just don't see any chance for really new, inspired GnR music. Axl just can't do it, it is what it is. These Chinese leftovers age terrible, it's all shit, basically. It doesn't even feel like real music to me. I'm just glad I realized that I can still get excited about new Slash stuff, I guess.
