  1. Already have my Springsteen tickets for Philly, postponed from last year. I expect he'll hit Jersey as well, and I'll be there if he does. Don't have a ticket yet, but Stones at MetLife in May are a near certainty. On a smaller scale, just got tickets to see the Chapin Family tour honoring Harry.
  2. Let's take a look at the money people will pay to see Taylor Swift in concert and the money people will pay to see GN'R in concert right now. Then get back to me about who is "so extraordinarily superior" and who will be remembered for it. There's an answer, but I don't think you'll like it.
  3. It was an inside joke that started on here around 2009-2010. There was a borderline parody site called Eat My Silkworms which was based on the premise that Silkworms (now Absurd) was the greatest GNR song of all time and Chris Pitman was secretly the band's creative genius. That site coined the Mother Goose nickname and acted as a cultish fanclub for him, but almost entirely ironically. The joke caught on sufficiently that the band eventually got wind of it.
  4. Chris "Mother Goose" Pittman is neither a mother nor, as it turns out, a goose.
  5. If you're going to drip-release songs as singles like this, you need radio etc. to be willing to play them. That's not the time to randomly release a nine-minute song. Not to mention that I don't think I trust a new GNR "epic" to be any good.
  6. The Eddie Trunk interview with Sebastian Bach and Chris Jericho was such a surreal thing to experience.
  7. They look right. The Slash is definitely good. I'm not sure I've ever seen Axl sign first name only like that, but the letters do look right for the most part, I think (though the lack of last name and compressed size of the auto throw off some of the pieces I normally look for). Whether it's live ink or printed you would only be able to tell in person, but it doesn't look autopenned, and I would lean towards it being authentic on the whole.
  8. Chris Pitman had this quirk of being a big ol' badass, swinging towels over his head and making absolute bangers like Silkworms. All hail Mother Goose!
  9. I am laughing hysterically over here. We finally get an official release of THE legendary unreleased GNR song...... and it's worse than fucking Silkworms.
  10. I don't regret a single dollar I've spent on the band, with the exception of buying a Nightrain membership to make sure I wouldn't miss out on tickets when they added the second MetLife show in 2016....Ended up buying tickets during the Nightrain exclusive onsale that ended being way more expensive than way better seats when the show sold horribly. But I've seen em twice, once on the UCAP Tour and once on Not In This Lifetime, and felt totally satisfied. It's been a while, so I'd probably be happy to see em again regardless of everything else, but with the Stones, Bruce, and possibly AC/DC making the rounds coming up, my concert budget will likely be spoken for. And I'm not paying for any of these gimmick releases, for GNR or any other band. Put out an album and I'll buy it, but not overpaying for collectibles to get to hear The General a month early. Can't feel foolish about spending money I never spent.
  11. Ron is the goddamn coolest dude. I was at the Up Close and Person show in Philly. When the doors opened at the Electric Factory, he and his wife were just hanging out down on the floor chatting with people, taking photos etc (most people didn't realize who he was, so those of us who did got some quick chats and personal time). This was one of the shows that got tacked on and extended the tour when he was supposed to be having his back injury treated, so he disappeared for a chunk of the middle of the show after being in obvious pain throughout. When the show ended and a bunch of us waited by the stage door to meet the band, we all expected him to get out as quickly as possible. But no, he propped up against the wall by the door and hung out for a good half hour signing, taking pictures, just shooting the shit with us. The man was in severe pain and in need of immediate medical care, but still went out of his way to be cool to the fans. I will always respect him deeply for that.
  12. Absolutely less than 0. To borrow a phrase from the band, in Brian we trust, it's Brian or bust.
  13. Axl hasn't raped anyone (allegedly) in almost 30 years. He's gonna lose all of his fans if he doesn't shape up. Go woke, go broke. GNR has been a big budget touring act since like 1990. The UYI tour had a horn section and backup singers. If OP complaining that GNR is too commercial of an act, you're a few decades too late my guy.
  14. I would start by not sexually harassing long-term employees of the band or infringing on their copyrights.
  15. The Darkness have shows most nights between now and the end of the year. He still sings plenty. He just does these too.
  16. That @Dexter had some wild stuff but hasn’t logged in for years. Just a few times a decade ago and then disappeared. Wonder what ever happened to him…
  17. It's a totally different experience for sure. The 09-16 run of just sheer bonkers audibles may never be matched. I was at the '09 show to close down the Philly Spectrum where they broke out Higher & Higher on an audible and blew the roof off, and the second of three MetLife shows in 2016 with Lost In The Flood, Tom Joad with Morello, a proposal in the middle of Jersey Girl.... absolute magic. But I find it hard to argue with the current set. Those every-night standards are, by and large, perfect. And it makes you appreciate the little changes even more. The last MetLife show this year is a top 3 all time Bruce show for me. Some real gems from the rarity heap - Something In The Night, Detroit Medley, and while it isn't "rare" I will absolutely never say no to Jungleland. Glad you were able to get your tickets painlessly this time! I have a pit ticket for the rescheduled Philly show in August, and expecting to drop some more cash when they inevitably add some more MetLife dates later.
  18. Springsteen on-sales fucking SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED this time around. I didn't even bother trying after getting shut out on the first round of US shows and just waited. Got some tickets from drops closer to the show, and some from other fans on message boards etc. Just can't be bothered with TicketMaster's whole gimmick. Hope you have good luck! The shows this tour are more expensive than before but still worth every penny.
  19. My entire concert budget for the year went to the Boss. Saw him in Philly in March, Wrigley in August, and 2 out of the 3 MetLife Stadium shows in NJ, including what stands for now as his last show until he gets back out on the road next year. Still the undisputed greatest to ever do it.
  20. I'm right there with you, @ZoSoRose. I got into GNR listening to classic rock radio in 2000-2001, just in time for 2002. I desperately wanted to go see them, but I was 14 and my parents were afraid the shows wouldn't be safe after the early riots. In 2006 I almost got tickets but plans fell through at the last second. I kept wanting to see them when they'd pop back up but it never worked out. 2012 Up Close and Personal in Philly was my first time seeing them. People will shit on that band - especially Dj - until eternity, and I get it. But at the same time, that was MY GN'R for a long time (pun intended). Having my elbows on the stage, catching the pick that Dj used for his Sorry solo, getting to meet the band at the stage door after the show... I have nothing but incredible memories of that night and that band.
  21. Feels like it's almost certainly one of those exclusive limited edition vinyls being released someplace, and something got lost in translation.
  22. Shacklers for me by a country by god mile. That one's always been my favorite live cut off CD. A different tone, a bit heavier, more Axl lower register singing than most CD songs so he could actually pull off the short raspy bursts, and would love to hear Slash rip through some of those heavier solos.
