  1. I was supporting his argument openly, with the exception of the owing thing, pointing out that the dissatisfaction is understandable. Nevermind.
  2. Why is why I literally said he doesn't owe us anything. You're confusing two different posters, mixing their posts together. Pay a bit more attention next time.
  3. Way to completely ignore what I said and just repeat your mantra, congrats. God forbid you'd try for a real dialogue here, i.e. trying to understand what and why the others are actually saying, which could lead to mutual enrichment and is one of the reasons people communicate. It's called a dialogue. Some people mistake this for two monologues being spat at each other, but no, that's not the same thing. Over and out.
  4. No, not unless you take it out of the context and really strive not to be caught looking at things from the poster’s point of view for a split second. I mean, I definitely wouldn’t use the word "owe" in this context, especially not here, knowing what kind of reactions it will trigger... So yeah, this may be a bit unfortunate; however, if you try, I think you might see what he’s saying. And no matter how much apologetics will be produced here, the kinda disturbing fact remains that Axl’s released about 19 songs in the last 2 decades... and the last time these 3 guys put something new together was five US presidents ago, most of them with two terms. Think about it for a second. No, I don’t think Axl owes us anything. He just doesn’t, that I'm sure about. But I do get the... apathy. Not gonna use the word "frustration" here, as that would trigger a different bunch of we-never-sleepers with yet another batch of their repeated texts. So I get both sides, that’s my point I guess.
  5. Sorry, I was on the phone, it was just a quick copy paste thing, didn't even intend to check the previous content.
  6. Dave Abbruzzese. It says he talks about GN'R, haven't seen it yet, could be interesting. https://youtu.be/hJH63OLD0Z0?si=N4vK1rMniWHQa8lU
  7. Any question I like, really? Oh I’d have some, but then I have a feeling most answers would sound suspiciously similar to "that’s a question for the management".
  8. I don’t know how trustworthy that Wikipedia information regarding studios is, but in any case, it says Axl used 15 studios for the CD recordings, and it names most of them. Now, I don’t believe even Axl is such a madman to record just the Village worth of material and then use another 14 studios (or even if it was fewer) just to tinker with the couple of songs that have vocals on it. That’s basically nonsense, which means there have to be *dozens* (ha) of other tracks, whether just those unfinished from the Village sessions or even different ones we’ve never heard of. Their quality or overall state of completion may be a different story, of course. However, if you’re asking me whether I’d be content with an album consisting solely from that CDII material with copy-pasted guitars and all that (like we’ve had so far), then the answer is fuck no. That’s lazy, and the band should show they still got it and can create new music together, you know, like bands normally do. No, they don’t have to sit in one room together all the time, but they should create new music as well. Made by the people who are actually currently in the band. Worst case, Axl could put some older lyrics on some of it. Another portion could be the CDII material, and stuff from the 90s sessions as the last third. Then blend it together. Voila.
  9. My point was the frustration is merely quote unquote. Not a real thing, just natural intermediate reaction. I could use the same token and say you guys seem to be frustrated all the time about some people complaining. Well, are you? That's for yourselves to answer. Still the same story.
  10. This is an evergreen topic, and it should never be perceived as one-sided. It’s true that people should come to terms with certain things, I agree. But then, where else would you vent your "frustration" other than on a fan forum? Try telling this shit your wife/partner every day and see how long it will take before they tell you to piss of with this. And as for this alleged frustration, it always has been here and always will be. It’s not about entitlement or desperation or god knows what. It’s about being in contact on a daily basis with something you’ve loved for a large part of your life. And since this thing is GN'R, which operates in mysterious ways, it indeed can get tedious and frustrating in the sense when you see how other bands operate, what coulda been but wasn’t, what still could be yet... tempus fugit. After some time, sure, you sort of resign or come to terms with it. But then something happens, like another botched release or another "soon, we all wanna do it, things are coming" for an umpteenth time, and the circle starts again, inevitably. All these fans’ criticized reactions are absolutely natural in most cases. You can always find strawman/negative examples of folks who indeed do nothing else but complain, but that’s like 1% and the rest just react normally, i.e. sometimes they’re positive, sometimes negative (like myself). (Although if you only wanna focus on the negative, then the negative is all you’ll see around you.) And god knows this band hasn’t been giving us plenty of positive things to be happy about recently. Yeah, yeah, new deep cuts, a few old demos, sure. So it shouldn’t be about wanting everyone to see it your way. After all, if you’re talking about coming to terms with some reality, then you yourselves should also come to terms with the fact some people will react like this most of the time. That’s acceptance which should be done on your part for a change. Otherwise we’ll get this never-ending complaining about complaining, which is what’s been going on here quite a lot as well. I always say, look at things from all sorts of sides (and definitely at least two). I think ya all catch my drift.
  11. I think he actually cemented his legacy by playing with Michael Jackson. He showed he wasn't just a unique guitarist of a world-famous junkie rock band but also an icon who can play in other music worlds as well. Plus being known as an overall nice fella and distinguishable by the top hat, this guy is accepted and praised by pretty much anyone. When Axl went nuts back in the day, he was opposing (kinda mocking) him, doing his own thing, chatting in late-night shows, gathering sympathy from everyone. There's literally nothing negative to find about this guy. And everybody has heard of Sweet Child O' Mine. So there you go. He's a beast live, too.
  12. You guys (previous page) are getting riled up over nothing IMO. There’s nothing that new or distinguishable that we haven’t heard before in dozens of slightly different versions. Those Duff’s words can mean anything from a single in a couple of months to another silence at least for the time until a new tour is happening. After all, Slash promised a summer single at one point, only for it to arrive with a year’s delay. No reason to get hysterical about this. Yet another "we’ll see, working hard, plenty of material, we all wanna do it, soon is the word..." etc., read my signature. It would be actually quite unprecedented for them to just release a single without a supporting tour (and we know no tour is happening this year, right?). Unless it’s something difficult to sing, so Axl could avoid it like that. But then, he knows people would still expect to hear it live once the machine gets on the road again, so... Idk. Again, anything is possible. But for now, I take it as another day, another "promise". Nothing to write home about.
  13. Ha, I have basically no idea what’s going on there or why the whole thing seems so pompous and "big". I didn’t watch that movie and to date have no idea why it was also being connected with that war film (Oppenheimer?). Not that I care. I like being completely out of the loop sometimes, even if just for the reason you can then see things from the right perspective, if you know what I mean. Good for Slash to be seen though; I like when they boys are out there in the spotlight, doing something interesting. That’s my two cents anyway. Worthless, but they’re there!
