Axl has his own Website now
Lethalis replied to kingcanyon's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I doubt Slash is going to be pissed off about shit that went down more than 20 years ago. Anyways... I know this is stupid, but I hope the launch of his personal website has to do with music. There are probably songs in the vault he really wants to release at some point, but that just don't fit with the current incarnation of Guns N Roses. Maybe he finally came to terms with it, and is going to release the more experimental stuff under his own name. And maybe, just maybe, release a classic GNR rock album with Slash and Duff. This might make too much sense to happen Another crazy idea: maybe his high pitched voice is actually done for and he'll reinvent himself and release solo stuff with his lower register. As a perfectionist he probably doesn't want to do that with GNR, so it's more ideal to do that as a solo artist. In which case we might get more piano driven songs. Anyways... with Axl and Duff doing their own solo stuff, it makes sense if Axl would do the same. However big or small that may be. It could just be a intimate piano tour... whatever. It can be anything. But it makes sense that he'll do something. Every year counts at his age and doing nothing is going to end in retirement at some point. -

I don't think we'll see Bucket back ever. *If* (big if) Axl would release solo stuff, we might see Richard Fortus on it though. Or - and people are gonna hate this - DJ Ashba -
Killing Floor - Slash feat. Brian Johnson
Lethalis replied to Free Bird's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
At first I was a bit disappointed the album was going to be full of covers. But Killing Floor has grown on me as just a fun song to listen to. Steven Tyler's playing is a great addition as well. If the whole album has the same effect I'm happy. Just fun music to listen to. I like blues music. -
Audioslave was great actually... one of my favorite bands. SMKC doesn't even come close to that. Which is a shame, because Alter Bridge has its moments and I really like Slash on most of the stuff he does... but they don't seem to blend well. Songwriting wise. Their cover of Rocket Man on 24th feb was great though. Slash on a pedal steel. I guess what I'm saying is this: Myles Kennedy sounds great to me on slower songs, Chris Cornell sounded great on friggin' everything. SMKC has done a smart move live by letting Todd Kerns sing the more rock n roll type of songs. He has more attitude. And Myles can do the slower (more musically) stuff really well. They should do duets actually... 2 singers. Axl used to be great at everything once as well. It's not so much a Axl and Slash thing. Axl was very versatile. Before his voice went to shit at some point. PS Scott Weiland was very talented and I'm still a fan of Contraband and STP, also some of his solo stuff. But he was an asshole. Sorry He was never a good teamplayer (according to Duff iirc).

Guns songs I listen to the most: Bad Apples, Pretty Tied Up, Dust N Bones, So Fine, 14 Years, Civil War, etc. Songs I hardly listen to: Absurd, The General, Perhaps, etc ... To Axl: please release something that ROCKS and doesn't take itself too seriously. Enough with the overly dramatic stuff please. Make it fun again. Bring Izzy back as a songwriter.

The Dandy Warhols feat. Slash new tune
Lethalis replied to El Guapo's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
It's a cool tune, but I was hoping for a crazy Slash solo that didn't come. Still a fun song to listen to.
