  1. The man is 60 and still putting on 3 hours shows. This will probably be their last tour.
  2. Yeah definitely seems the closer you were to the stage. The worse the sound was I was in C7 which I thought was going to be far back but it turned out to be perfect for sound
  3. Lots of people like to talk out of their ass. You wouldn't be able to know that unless you were on the stage in front of the sound monitors or he had an inner ear monitor which we know he didn't.
  4. I paid $60 ea for the litho and the foil If you thought the sound wasn't good, you were at the wrong show or in the wrong spot! From the floor, the concert was incredible. Haters gonna hate. The sound was perfect and Axl was more on point at this show than anywhere else on the tour. Including Europe
  5. Merch is put in the Jays shop for that exact reason. They want fans to buy it inside not outside. What's the song? Somebody who isn't going to the show from walking up to the merch stand and buying up everything so the fans can't get it just so they can resell it. This isn't new first Rogers Center. They have been doing this for years. The last time I've seen an outdoor merch stand at Skydome it was probably GNR 2016. The Toronto litho was limited to 250 and was only available at the merch stand on the floor. So if you didn't have floors, you were kind of SOL.
  6. Toronto GNR Review (9-3-23) I've seen Guns N' Roses every time they've been to Toronto. And in many other cities and countries. But last night was a special show! During Pretenders who were not for me. They also seem to bring down the vibe in the stadium. Some people were really into them though! But about 20 minutes before GNR was expected to hit the stage. The SkyDome filled to capacity. About 40,000 in the seats and another 5,000-10,000 on the floor. Even though we had seats on the floor, we tried to shuffle ourselves to the center into the big open GA area near the back by the dugouts. My group were quickly chased away by security. I figured out how to unlock the chairs to give ourselves more room when we're sitting. The chairs locked together were way too tight. Once we did that everything was good. Lights out. Absolutely love those screens and the graphics were amazing to open the show. GNR packed a punch with the opening bass line from Duff on It's So Easy. When they kicked into Bad Obsession, I was instantly teleported back to the '90s on the UYI tour. I could just picture Teddy up there 🥹 The entire band seemed to be on point from the beginning of the show. I really liked the way they played Chinese Democracy with the new intro and the change in vocal style. It almost seemed like Axl was preserving his voice by changing octaves. Still a little horse .. 😉 I do agree that Hard Skool didn't sound the greatest. I find that Axl has to put way too much effort into the vocal and I worry he's going to blow out his voice early in the show. Hence Montreal 92' or London 22' He powered through it and even mixed up the setlist a bit. Jungle and Perhaps. Probably the best performance of that song. Then Pretty Tied Up! All before Double Talkin' Jive which also seemed to have a shorter outro. I think Axl was just pumped to get into the next song 🤘 Reckless Life was a beast and always fun to hear. Estranged was a crowd favorite and everyone was singing along and screaming at the top of their lungs. Axl really seemed to be really responding to it. He channels the crowd and when they are loud he puts on a good show and he proved that as the night went on. You Could Be Mine was another monster. Frank is a beast! Absurd is a funny song to hear Axl sing. Looks like he actually singles people out in the crowd when he yells absurd! He really gets into it 🤣 Live And Let Die I expected to fall flat without pyro. I was wrong. The crowd was heavily into this one and again Axl was channeling the crowd. Even having some fun on stage during instrumentals. The band jam was up next. Duff seemed to be really into it and seemed to spend a lot of time side stage with the hot blonde singing into her phone like it's a microphone and flailing her arms. More on that later 😉 Up next was Rocket Queen which is always fun. Slash's solos in RQ were particularly amazing. AFD days! Down On The Farm was next and felt fresh. Again, the band was perfect. Especially Richard Foetus. I forgot that they played Anything Goes. Man, does a really good job of making this song sound new. Up next you could hear the horns playing. I knew right away it was Madagascar and I was quite shocked that they played it. I know it was played in honor of MLK's speech a couple shows ago. Definitely didn't expect it here but I also know Axl loves Toronto and tends to pull out all the stops when he's here. Hence 1999's Back Off Bitch, 2010's Catcher In The Rye and 2017's Prostitute. Many people don't recognize the connection that Axl has to this city. Metalworks Recording Studio was an integral piece to finishing the recording of Use Your Illusion I & II albums on time during the early portion of the 91 tour. Civil War was another monster. The crowd started roaring when the Ukraine flag was emblazoned across the screens. That song is always a blast to hear. The graphics on the screen were intense but necessary. Slash's solo seemed better than usual. Really seemed to be into the crowd reactions. The opening licks of Sweet Child O' Mine packed a punch and the crowd responded positively. November Rain was another memorable song last night. Axl was really having fun with it. Graphics are incredible on the screen from the rain falling to the rain falling on the rose. Ultimately to the rain pouring down on the skull. Everything just seemed to click. Again, 90s vibes. Axl even stopped ahead of the solo to pound back some Pedialyte the way he did in the video. Have gave a sly smile to the crowd and then went straight into the outro. Slash was absolutely perfect. As were the rest of the band. Wichita Lineman was next. Axl always sounds really good on this song. The song intro started afterwards and I had no clue what it was and then quickly thought it was IRS. I started singing along to every word only to realize that it was T.W.A.T. It took me by surprise as I definitely didn't expect to hear that. But again it's Toronto! Axl did it justice. I don't know how he powers through those last couple verses screaming but he did it. Melissa also sounds really good on this song. Axl decided that he was going to tell us that Melissa was giving him cut-eye when she seen him drinking. Sounds like he's off the sauce. He made it known to the crowd that he was drinking Pedialyte not alcohol. I could see why considering you sweating profusely early in the show. It is defense. It was extremely hot in the city and SkyDome did a really good job of pumping the AC. With 60,000 people if you get hot pretty quick! He said "It's like someone looking at you from the other end of the bar watching you drink and being ashamed of you after you told them you don't drink anymore." She let out a huge laugh. Melissa is a welcomed addition to the band for sure. Knockin' On Heaven's Door was up next. That song is one of the best ones live. Anyone that is seen GNR in the past knows this. The graphics they use on the screens look amazing. The band just seemed to be having so much fun! Axl wasn't overly talkative to the crowd. He spent more time singing than talking which is always welcomed. He told the crowd that he's been reminded that there is a curfew. At this point it was 10:53 So of course Paradise City is next, right!? I remember telling my son that I guess we're not going to get Coma tonight after all. Only to hear the opening baseline of Coma. The two of us looked at each other and laughed. We were amazed but Axl just mentioned the curfew and decided he was going to play a 10 minute song. So of course we're going to get an abbreviated version of the song to make room for Paradise City. Nope, we got the entire 10 minute song! Even during the haunting final solo before the crazy final verses. Axl started singing Kumbaya. We heard the opening guitar of Paradise City and knew that our night had come to an end. You wanted to stick around to the very end but we left after the first verses. Anyone that knows Rogers Center and the area knows that it can take a while to get from the floor to the concourse and out the door to Bremner. It was a phenomenal fucking night! We took our time walking away from the venue. We knew that we wouldn't be able to call an Uber for quite a while so we just kind of enjoyed the evening as it wasn't too hot. Only about 35°C 🙄 there was a band playing down the street and we could hear them singing YCBM. It was just a full-on party on Brenner. Everybody enjoying themselves and taking their time getting where they need to go. The police were very courteous and had the entire area blocked off for safety. I've been to a ton of shows this year from all kinds of different bands. This was by far the best show I've been to. Not only this year but maybe my favorite GNR show. With exception to 2017. Be sure to check out all the videos on YouTube that people took. I made it a point to not record video and immerse myself in the moment, which is something I don't normally do. When I go to a show. I spend more time recording and watching it back at home because of my eyesight. Don't listen to the haters that say that Axl doesn't sound good or that he's lost it or that the venue didn't sell. All the haters are wrong. This was by far the best show of this tour in my opinion. And one of the best in the career of Guns N' Roses. And like I said I've seen GNR in many cities and countries and that says a lot to my statement. This is a band you can never afford to miss a live. They always sound better in person than they do on a live stream or video. Highlights: 1) Smiling Axl 2) Octave changes in different songs including CD, You Could Be Mine, Coma and Nightrain. 3) Slash solos and general guitar play 4) Duff on T.V. Eye took the time to tell the crowd how great it was to be back in Toronto and that he was having fun tonight. 5) The Pedialyte joke 6) Madagascar & TWAT 7) NASCAR graphics 8) Civil War & Estranged 9) the graphics on November Rain and the outro. 10) Axl saying how much fun it was to be in the city and he started singing Oh Canada. 11) Kumbaya during Coma 12) How tight the entire band was the entire show. Everything seemed to be on point. The band introductions by Axl were also pretty funny, especially the way he introduced Frank. Calling him a " Hurricane, Thunder Chucker Motherfucker." And the way Axl introduces introduced Slash is always funny. But he really seemed to get into it tonight. But the crowd went nuts when he did that. Of course! Gave a powerful introduction to Slash as always. So great to see them back together! I should also mention how professional security was with the crowd other than chasing people away like me from areas we weren't supposed to be in. Made it a point to not block anyone's vision and didn't harass anybody from what I could see. Oh and that was Duff's wife Susan dancing side stage and singing into her phone. You can check out the video on IG. Thanks for taking the time to read this 🤘😝🤘 Apologies for any spelling mistakes!
  7. Yeah that was hilarious. My son and I turned to each other saying okay. PC is next because of the curfew announcement that Axl made. He ended up playing a longer set than some shows
  8. I was in C7. Seats were great. A couple next to us actually paid $250 a ticket
  9. LOL. The show was almost sold out! The Rogers Center including the floor holds 70,000
  10. Gates @4:30 p.m. Opener 6:00 p.m. GNR starts at 7:20-7:45 p.m. (Depends on opener)
  11. Looks like dude is from Brazil so this might be his first time in Canada
  12. Not quite sure where you got your stats. As a matter of fact, AC/DC played there but the venue itself. It's the first time they've allowed a band to perform. Normally concerts are done at Magnetic Hill. Venue only holds 25,000 so not sure where you want them to put people. And it was used for Women's FIFA World Cup 2018. Also tickets were sold out prior to the event. With the exception of only a few Love your comments about people on that side of the country not being able to afford tickets. Are you kidding dude. Just because it's a small province, doesn't mean only people from that province go to the show! Posts should really be screened before people say stupid shit @GunsGuy 🙄
