  1. it's like when David Lee Roth formed the DLR band with Steve Vai and other talented musicians who had creative input. it wasn't Van Halen. it's just that Axl got the rights to the Gn'R name as I see it and tried to kinda recreate the Gn'R sound with Chinese Democracy.
  2. could be seen as Axl's solo band, doesn't mean it was Gn'R, just because totally different players were also involved in the creative process imo.
  3. what is there to take personally here? everytime someone disagrees with you, you take it very poorly and you end the discussion. I suggest you take a look at the loop you're in instead of projecting whatever it is going on with you on me, as I'm simply doing what I've always done around here, trying to discuss Gn'R here with other people without it being silly like you, yet again, explaining to everyone how we should always leave room for interpretation and respect each others opinion. I feel like instead of focusing on the topic at hand, you just keep repeating yourself so thought I should let you know so maybe you'll see that I'm already aware of that.
  4. even when you use the word "definitely" you follow it with the word "might". are you aware that you invest a lot of words and time in making sure that everyone knows that it's open ended, opinion based, etc? did I say that @jacdaniel didn't have a good point? I was just sharing my thoughts about how I see it. I hope that's ok. I don't care much about what the majority wants. I try to see it for what it is, not what I want it to be. I think that beggars can't be choosers anyway. I believe that everything we get from now on is a bonus,
  5. yes, very good. all opinions are valid. I never thought otherwise or tried to present my opinions as fact. must we go through this shit everytime we're trying to discuss Gn'R? you seem to have a need to repeat how it's not black and white, how it's open to speculation, etc. I realize that. and also, btw, I don't consider Chinese Democracy to be a Gn'R album, but everything that you've said in your post doesn't change what I said in my original post in this thread about why I think that Axl is releasing his Chinese material. mostly for himself, mostly to finish what he started.
  6. but he said he wanted to release Absurd back in 2013 if I'm not mistaken
  7. do you think Axl chose to release Absurd as the first single of the current lineup cause the top priority in his mind was how the material was going to be accepted by Gn'R fans? or did he do that more for himself? my guess is that maybe it's nice for him when some fans enjoy what he chooses to release, but that it's more about finishing what he started and then maybe he'll move on from it after all the old Chinese tunes that he wants to release are out there, officially.
  8. "all that Chinese stuff" is probably the most you're going to get from Gn'R if we're not talking years from now, and I highly doubt that Axl is suddenly going to release all that Chinese stuff under his own name after releasing 4 Chinese singles under the Gn'R name with Slash and Duff.
  9. a lot of people got a stick up their ass about being a fanatic when it comes to Gn'R. as if it's a new thing to get attached to shit that has a connection to a celebrity/musician/artist what's the big deal, anyway? so it's weird. whatever. as long as it's not stalking and you get permission, who cares.
  10. you're already getting what Axl is willing to share, on his terms. if he wanted to hurry the fuck up about it and release all the Chinese era stuff, quickly work on a new album with Slash and Duff and release it, then that's what would have happened or at least an attempt. what is the small thing for the fans that you think TB can convince him to do? is TB there to convince Axl to do stuff or is it to lighten the load and help him live and function the way he wants to do it? these are questions that I think are relevant here.
  11. eh... could be worse. there was a RHCP Flea groupie that somehow got access to his sweaty used after show underwear, squeezed it like a wet towel and drank every drop of it. saw a guy talking about it on VH1's behind the music. it's nuts out there.
  12. if I had to bet on it, I'd say that you're right, but technically I don't know. the price seems to be too low for it to be real, that much I know.
  13. but Izzy posted on social media that they didn't want to share the loot, so not only in the form of a song, he was straight up about it saying it was about money disagreements, basically saying that Axl, Slash, and Duff were too greedy for it to work out between them and Izzy.
  14. you seem to be under the impression that TB can influence Axl into releasing music. I don't think anyone can tell Axl what to do, especially when it comes to new music. in a way, they are just a reflection of what Axl wants. it's like this cause this is how Axl prefers it to be. Gn'R sells nostalgia, and as long as they play SCOM and the hits, they're pretty much good to go. they don't need to release new music, though I would love it if they do of course. it's not the main product they are selling and hasn't been for quite a while now.
  15. no, Izzy did say they didn't want to split the loot as in money and wrote a song about it F.P Money. it's not clear the size of the share Izzy thought was fair and acceptable but it wasn't about the spirit of brotherhood that's for sure. Izzy got along fine with all of them before that, writing together with Duff, guesting on Slash's solo album and playing with new Gn'R/Axl live a few times.
  16. but it's not that there's nothing going on with Gn'R in regards to a new album because of the side projects taking place. the side projects are happening cause Slash and Duff can't wait for Axl to make his move and Slash and Duff are super prolific musicians while Axl is the opposite of that. I don't think any product born out of the love of the process is a waste of time and energy. see it from the point of view of the musician. Slash for example, must really enjoy coming up with new compositions all the time and sharing it with his fans and performing the material live, spicing it up by not just doing one thing as his side project. Duff is the same, working with different and talented musicians like Shooter Jennings or Loaded or his solo stuff. I'm sure if/when Axl is ready, Slash would make Gn'R a priority when it comes to new music, but as far as we know, that hasn't happened (yet?)
  17. I don't know any precise demand numbers either, but if they chose to sell it at that low price, they want to clear inventory ie make what they can now so it will be losing money cause you won't gain anything in those couple of years since the demand is very low, or at least that's how the seller sees it.
  18. that's not how you clear inventory though when there is almost zero demand
  19. 'Andor' Creator Reflects On "Important" 24 Hours Of Storytelling (theplaylist.net)
  20. thank fuck for that and I appreciate it immensely
  21. please keep me updated if you reach a concrete conclusion about what induced the sadness. sometimes the answers to these tough questions don't easily present themselves. btw: Evan is a known diva, just from reading his posts you can tell. wouldn't surprise me if he lets his gf hold his umbrella for him 100% of the time just so he can put both his hands in his pockets.
  22. I don't see what's so sad about it tbh, I just looked at the pic now. didn't know Axl was holding shit with both hands.
