  1. Agreed. It hasn't been the same since Church of Rock N Roll imo. Gonzo and then disbanding was a big mistake imo, as they had some amazing momentum in 2012. I saw them 3 times that year and they were a force to be reckoned with. Got to hang out with some of them at the gigs, too. They were really cool dudes at those shows
  2. It would be an okay business decision, as it would help fill up stadiums but Motley Crue is not a band I care to see, again. Pass
  3. It’s especially crazy considering we have the original, complete and unaltered versions officially released and they’re fucking awesome
  4. And two of the partners don’t care if one of the partners wants to release old songs, so why would they unnecessarily rock the boat? It is easier to avoid songwriting and recording, mentioning current GNR affairs in media, and accepting the CD era and why shouldn’t they? The band is basically a business partnership at this point. Getting along for the good of the brand only benefits fans and their legacy. I wish there was more new music, but that is an Axl- thing and not a GNR- thing. We didn’t get a thing (aside from the live video and album) from 2009- 2014. They aren’t abundant, but at least we have gotten some great releases out of the current era, Sound City Sessions Ritz 1991 live album and video Last Vegas 1992 live album Shadow of Your Love Four redone CD leftovers (with more on the way) Shit, I’ll take it. There’s some good stuff up there. Hoping for more live shows and CD leftovers. If that is the best we get, I’m okay with it.
  5. Absurd, Hard Skool, Perhaps, and The General. Plus Monsters will come. I don't think it is that crazy to assume they did 3-5 more to make a short LP's worth. I can see them slapping them together with a cover and selling them as a 12 inch record through their online store. I'd definitely buy it, Shit, you could even throw on some live tracks which they already did with the Hard Skool singles (Absurd and Shadow of Your Love and even Don't Cry and You're Crazy with the CD, right?)
  6. If the "next album" is just a compilation of spruced up CD2 songs, it is safe to say Slash has been done with his contributions since around 2019
  7. As someone who is gladly taking the Chinese leftovers, there is virtually no interest in those songs outside the diehard community.
  8. I collect bootlegs on vinyl. I came across a great looking Sabbath boot from their 1989 Vienna show a few months back and decided to buy it. I always loved the original band, Heaven and Hell, the revival Dio record in 2009, and 13. I always dismissed the Tony Martin years. I decided to pick the boot up and thought the show sounded fucking awesome. I am so happy I picked it up (boots are expensive so I was iffy about getting it). Got me into Headless Cross and let me say, that album is absolutely fucking killer. Just stellar metal that fits right in with the 80s NWOBHM. Iommi sounds awesome (did he use Marshalls in that era?) and Tony Martin is a fucking insane singer. I might pick this up, although I still need to pick up some of the OG Sabbath albums, too. Very cool this is coming out for fans.
  9. It looks like Dune: Messiah will be made. I am probably going to read the books, now. I don't care for 1-1 adaptions for books and movies, as long as the changes enhance the film. The Godfather, Lord of the Rings, and Jurassic Park are all different than their books- but the screenplays were written to service the story in a way that would translate well on- screen. It is probably very hard to do, and usually people lament a film adaption not being exactly like a book, but I understand why they are often different. They seem to be terrible most of the time, but when they work, they work. I'd put Dune up there with those other behemoth films mentioned above. It is a visual spectacle with a rich world, great sound design, and an interesting and complex story. Some of my thoughts, All that being said, I am totally hoping for Denis Villeneuve to adapt more of the Dune books. A part of me hope he doesn't just become "The Dune guy", like James Cameron is now just "The Avatar Guy", but I would love at least the next book to be adapted if it has a standalone ending. I haven't read them, and I hear they get weird as fuck, but I believe he can make it work on the big screen. I hear Dune: Messiah is close to being green- lit. If it doesn't happen, Dune 1 and 2 stand on their own. If it does happen, I am more than down to see the consequences of the galactic war on- screen. I just hate when something gets made without the ending greenlit and then you are stuck without the entire thing. I didn't see the first part in theaters, and I regret it. I wanted to, and it was during all the weird COVID shit from what I remember. Seeing Part 2 in theaters makes up for it. Awesome movie that enhances part 1. As a whole, they stand as one of the best sci- fi movies ever made imo. What a weird fucking world Frank Herbert created. Super creative and I am here for it. If shit gets bonkers in his later books, that works for me. Hope he lived to complete his main story, I know his kid wrote a bunch after he died. @rocknroll41, I am going to consider reading the books and then I will check out the mini- series with James McAvoy. He is another actor I really like.
  10. Anyone see Dune: Part 2? I never read the books, so I am just familiar with the films. I rented Part 1 and liked it enough but felt like it did not feel like a comlete film. Well, it wasn't because Part 2 has all the meat, and it is fucking awesome. I think part 2 enhances part 1 and vice versa. The first movie gets you up- to- speed with the lore, factions, and universe while Part 2 has a lot of the crazier story elements. Really great stuff. What a great director.
  11. That sucks, but at least that is the easiest record to replace
  12. The LZ versions from 69 and The Lemon Song rock, too
  13. Good, man! Got engaged, last year and have seen GNR a few more times since you’ve last been around Also started a Zeppelin record collection which has been a huge money pit. how are you?
  14. Nothing beats the old era from a performance standpoint. I was born in 91, so 2010 onwards is what I get. Wish I went in 2006, though
  15. I do wish the tour was in smaller venues, but I get why it is the way it is. The theater my show is at seats 5,000 at a casino. A club in Detroit or a small ampitheater would have been better. Oh well, it is a small critique!
  16. I do hope he has an acoustic song on this record. If the timestamps on the wikipedia page are to be trusted, I am really fired up. Lots of long songs which will no doubt have some great blues jams
