The Doors - Strange Days Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way Stone Temple Pilots - Purple The Strokes - Is This It
  3. Maybe that's why it's a b-side. Well, most of IWY lyrics are bad anyway.
  4. Red Hot Chili Peppers...opinions?

Yes, they're probably my favorite band. I really like all of their albums, including the first three ones and One Hot Minute. I'm also looking forward to their new album, Josh got way better and confident since the start of IWY tour and seems like Rick Rubin won't be working with them, so I'm expecting something really interesting.

New leaks from Californication sessions, two unreleased songs and a lot of demos, Mommasan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AE_vzkH6NI Tellin' A Lie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P6ha7iwFGA John played a bit of Tellin' A Lie during Don't Forget Me outro live at Slane Castle 2003, 4:15: There's a lot of stuff on this channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/RHCPtv6/videos Looks like more songs will leak over the next few days/weeks, like the Greatest Hits sessions stuff, probably including studio versions of Mini-Epic (Kill For Your Country), Rolling Sly Stone and Leverage Of Space. There's also a song called Circle Of The Noose that was recorded for their second album with Dave Navarro and it was dropped when Dave left and Frusciante came back.

  11. Red Hot Chili Peppers

Some news about the next album: PS: Rubin didn't produce Mother's Milk, BSSM was his first work with them. If Rick really stays out, I'll expect something really interesting and different from previous releases. Looking forward to listen to this stuff.

Exactly, he did an audition around '92-'93: 12) Did Buckethead audition for the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Yes. One journalists account reported that the lead singer picked Buckethead up at the airport and found out that Buckethead had not heard any of their tunes. The audition proceeded anyway, and Buckethead played in his inimitable fashion (i.e., robot dance, hyper-metal licks etc...) and when he finished the band applauded raucously. Flea confirmed that they auditioned BH saying that he was "sweet and normal" but they wanted someone "...who could also kick a groove." Source: http://bucketheadland.com/faq/index.html#anchor1780993 Such a shame, they could be great together.

Last week I listened to I'm With You and it was great, it's really a grower. Anyway Open/Close, Strange Man and Long Progression should've been on the album instead of Annie Wants A Baby, Police Station and Dance, Dance, Dance. I think the next album will be way better than IWY, Josh improved a lot and got more confident since the beginning of the tour judging by his live performances, solos and jams. He'll never be as good as John, but I like him. Josh covering Angel by Jimi Hendrix: I Could Have Lied with a great solo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcsEHxLLnWQ

Yeah, I love RHCP, they're for sure one of my favorite bands. And I also appreciate every album released until the moment, One Hot Minute is underrated IMO. Have you guys heard about the new leaks? Some demos/rough mixes from Californication and By The Way: Californication (Early Version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2bXrPUGVwc Fall Water (By The Way Sessions): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbYWcqKgfVU There's more stuff on that channel. That Cali demo is completely different from the final version, here's a quote from AK's book about the song creation: "Back in the studio, things were going well, but the one song that was so important to me was less important to everybody else. That was "Californication." Every time I'd bring it up, everyone would go, "we've got twenty-five other songs recorded. We don't need antoher one." "No, we have to have this." I urged. "This is the anchor of the whole record. It's as good a lyric as I've written in a long time. It has to be a song." I was not letting go. I kept telling John we had to finish it. Meanwhile, the session was winding down and we had only a few days of basic track recording left. In the last moments of recording, John came running into the studio with his new thirty-thousand-dollar ($30k) White Falcon hollow-body guitar. He said, "I've got it! I've got 'Californication'!" He sat down and plucked this incredibly spare yet haunting combination of notes. It was so different from any other approach that we'd taken for the song that I didn't quite hear it. Then he started singing it, and it was at the high end of my range, but it was doable. He taught it to Flea and Chad, and we rehearsed it a couple of times and recorded it. It was such a sensation of relief and gratification, to know that the song didn't end up in the same trash bin as "Quixotic Elixir" and a number of other songs that I had high hopes for."
