To begin with, my apologies if my english are not so good.. __________________ So, what a night! I want to give some kudos firstly to the band for playing in so much heat and to all of us who we're patiently waiting for hours. Even for us, greeks, the conditions were extreme. I've spent 4 bottles of water right on my head and body, probably 5 more for drinking it. I've been saying this for sometime now and I was right. If you 're planning to see the band live, don't watch any of the clips in YT. It's just not the same! Olympic stadium isn't famous for the acoustics. I was sceptical about this from the beggining and fortunately it was great! Sure there were some ups and downs but nothing special. We arrived around 16:30, heat was insane and there were so many people already there. The doors opened at 17:15 and we managed to get in front of the stage. We had people of all ages, so nostalgia did hit hard to many of us.. I've met a guy who saw them back in '93 in the same stadium and he was 18 back then. Now he was with his daughter, who had the same age as him in '93. 18! How cool was that? When the band kicked off, I was in shock tbh. Even now that I'm writing down all this, feels surreal. I haven't realized it.. It needs time I guess.. Watching those 3 guys again side by side was like a dream. All of them had so many energy, especially uncle Ax who was running all the time the stage like a kid and he's 61. And again. He's 61 goddamnit! He was in a great mood just like in '06! Duff is now the silent force of the band. Interacted with everyone, with us. Love the dude. 4tus is the best rhythm guitar GN'R ever had. Just like that. As for Slash.. I know most of the people on the stadium came to see him. No words can describe him. He's in the top-3 of most dedicated guitar players EVER. When he plays the 6 string, he's 101% there. He's a BEAST. I've blown away. Everyone's blown away, so we wished him happy bday. What a moment right there! And it was the first time we get to see him smile! I don't care what everyone says about Axl. We have a saying here in Greece about opinions (fellow greeks in this forum they get what I mean). Everyone has to understand he's 61, the "prime" days are over. Unfortunately he f@cked his voice once and for all with AC/DC and we have to live with that. But you have to admit that he's giving everything on stage, 101%. Therefore, the heat combined with humidity wasn't helping. Especially for him. As I said he was in a great mood, joking about Slash on band introduction. Everyone literally was screaming Slash's name and he was like "yeah I think that's all etc." He had some weak moments with Locomotive wich I wasn't prepared for it. Neither for Anything Goes (which is one of my favorite songs) in which he was great. I think they have to reconsider songs like Loco that they need many breaths. Everyone in the stadium was exstatic. Too many sing alongs and so much energy. We missed those guys...! Anyone who came just to have some fun, he surely did. Overall was a great experience. As I said to some friends, "Not In This Lifetime" for us got to be "Once In A Lifetime". I just hope the rumors not coming to europe for awhile will be just rumors.
