  1. Yes. It was inevitable Axl and Slash would reunite. No, I didnt predict him fronting ACDC but I wouldn't call that something wild, it made a lot of sense and it was great. to predict this i would have to have known brian johnson was going deaf. Once he did, and ACDC announced they were going to carry on, yes i hoped axl would do it, and once I knew he was interested I 100% expected it. They weren't going to give it to a south american tribute singer over Axl fuckin rose were they? Hmmm, maybe. I hoped they would do a couple VR songs, but I cannot say i expected it no, however is covering a hit song by your 2 bandmates a 'unpredictable' crazy move? Yes, I knew he wanted to release silkworms and that if there was ever a new album it would be on it, no I did not predict it would be the first single because that was a terrible dreadful decision to make. Overall I wouldn't call any of these things that wild or crazy or rockstar or axl circa 85-2010. Playing a song live after touring for 8 years straight isn't making me question the existence of humanity. he's a predictable guy.
  2. I don't believe Axl told them what to play no, but there's only so much they can do with it, the vocals, keyboards, drums are the same and they probably heard the original versions and did their own versions. I think they have autonomy over their parts, but theres not too much they can do to already completed songs creatively. How duff lays down the bass lines is going to be very similar to tommys, otherwise he'd be playing the wrong notes. Tone and style are obv the big differences. the alternative is just axl does solo stuff. I don't think I'd call Axl unpredictable. Not since about 2012. the past 12 years, you can almost predict his tweets, his setlists, his stage moves, his lack of album release etc. He's very predictable as an artist now. The hot head trying to take on the world died after rock in rio 2011
  3. I could lose my arms and legs and eyes and ears and tongue and still survive. Doesn't mean I'd want to. If slash leaves GnR the band is done. Axl isn't going from playing stadiums with slash earning $5m per show to barely breaking even playing club shows in his 60s with hired hands. It was completely different in the 90s.
  4. This is the most naïve thing ever said here. It is in no way comparable. How can you type that and not be obviously sarcastic? Axl was mid 30s, chinese democracy rumours and unbelievable expense to make the record, most gnr fans still being there from their pomp, the constant reunion rumours, the mystery, the fact that axl was still an angry and motivated man. We got CD, we got leftover follow ups, we got the reunion an 8 years of touring with literally everyone saying from 2018 onwards Axl was shot, slash was the only thing good about the show. Axl has become less and less famous, less and less mystical and worse and worse as a performer. Slash is more famous than ever. Sure if Axl wanted to tour 900 capacity venues for axl die hards and call it guns n roses without slash and duff he could, but he won't. He's 62, he can barely sing at all. if slash said in 2025 im done with GnR, then GnR are done. To even suggest they would carry on in 2025 like they did in 1996 is preposterous
  5. Perhaps was well thought out lyrically for the first verse. the problem is they just repeated it and that seemed lazy. I agree. He's obviously the most important member of the band and when it comes to touring I don't think GnR survive if slash says he's out. However, when it comes to any actual decisions, such as songwriting, song releasing, band promotion and what the band can and can't say, he is clearly just as important as a stage tech. Axl decides and dictates all of that. Slash knows his importance is to the live show and the band image, and that is where he is making 99.99% of his cash from being in GnR, so he doesn't really care about the other stuff. Axl obviously really does care about the other stuff (well 'care' perhaps isn't the word) so he is in control of that. Hence we get regular touring and irregular releases. Slash has all the power when it comes to £££ for touring. And he has absolutely zero when it comes to new music. Even the new songs with slash on, no one has really given a shit. The argument could be that is because it wasn't in support of an album, and it came too late, no marketing campaign and had the wrong lead single etc even half of the people here say they'd prefer the versions with bucket and finck. So Slash knows where he matters and he knows where he doesnt. I imagine Axl probably does too
  6. This is a thing!? Isn't this only available for transexuals? Then again I guess Axl can buy whatever he wants
  7. Really..? I can understand people saying it's not for them but embarrassing and 1/10? have you heard drill music? or every single EDM song ever when not on MDMA? Perhaps is solid and catchy, but lazy. It is probably the most UYI GnR sounding song since 1991 though
  8. Scott Weiland is one of the greatest frontmen of all time and he was the reason VR were so successful. To do a reunion without him such as an album and tour would be insulting to all. A one off tribute show playing the songs with a few different singers? Hell yeah.
  9. This wouldn't be the worst idea. Myles blues stuff is actually really good. Way better than the shitty last AB record and shitty last 2 SMKC records. In fact I think it's probably the only thing that could work for SMKC now. They're clearly finished as a creative entity for stale rock songs. But a cool slash/myles co written original blues album? maybe all acoustic too? Yep, I'd be well up for that
  10. 1. well done for proving my point and not even realising it. Thank you! Yes, tarantino said he's done! Correct! What did Axl say? hmmmm... that's fucked ya.... Yes overlook where I said the merch is a part of the bigger picture. Very convenient. 2. Have you heard what he's released? Maybe you haven't. If you had, you'd deduct that he couldn't give too much of a fuck, as literally every person that has heard each of the 4 have either said the mix is terrible OR the song is terrible OR both! I happen to like all 4 songs, but the mixes and way each was released was abysmal. If that's how you think your treat something you care about, I'd hate for you to care for me
  11. I really genuinely hope this isnt your outlook to real life too. Axl lets us down, and rolling over and accepting it as fans isn't a great approach to it. I know there is probably very little we can do, but that doesnt mean im going to accept it either. there's little I can do about unjust wars and rapes etc, but doesnt mean I'll just say i dont give a fuck. GnR and TB suck
  12. I think they literally did point A with the perhaps release though we did get it in the end... points B and C are where you're spelling it out. Dangling carrots for literally THIRTY YEARS. It is insulting. I'd much rather they said it's over creatively. Like Kiss and aerosmith have. I am under no illusions what the deal has been with them for the past 10 years and I respect and embrace it. And so do the band, they seem liberated!
  13. To be clear, I dont think either of us were saying that because we went to a gig we should be given a new album. I won't speak for anyone but myself here, I was saying that it all factors in. It's part of the investment in the band, the gigs, the merch, the fandom. Axl saying theres new music and it'll come, then disappearing and repeat etc. And I also would like to literally point out - we would pay for that new music and probably spend more money on brand GnR because of it. It's an unwritten rule which is observed by bands and their fans, bands write songs and release them and fans buy and listen to them. Thats as simple as it needs to be, any defence of Axl and GnRs record will fall short because for 16 long years Axl has fallen foul of that sacred agreement! Sorry i have to take it to the nth degree here, but it really is simple. I dont doubt you are too frustrated and disappointed too.
  14. Believe me, my expectations are low yet Axl found a way to limbo under them and still have fans inexplicably defending him
