I don't remember whether I've pimped out S&M Judge to the entire forum or only to Angelica. "In 1997, the Belgian public was in shock when judge Koen Aurousseau was convicted for the S&M relationship with his wife. Although their life was destroyed by the verdict, Koen and his wife Magda remain together today. The film is a story about dark sexuality and true love, told from the lovers' unique point of view." Watch it. Especially if you've already watched Secretary and adored it.

By the way, I watched "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and "Raging Bull" back to back last night. Yeah, weird choices, I know.

Dracula was a bit over the top for me, usually I have no problem with weird movies, but this one could've been better if it was a bit more stringent in its storytelling. I think I'll watch it again, tho, as I know now what to expect.

It was fun to see where Johnny Depp has his antics from, when he's playing his weird roles like Wonka, The Mad Hatter or Sparrow, as I think Gary Oldman's "human" incarnation of Dracula, especially his mimic was like a blueprint for this.

"Raging Bull" was just plain awesome, although I found it difficult to stomach the fat Jake La Motte, because he was so awesome and lean before. I found that a bit unaestethic! :D Hat's off to De Niro for this!

Guest Apollo

Finally broke down and watched The Blindside.

Wow.

Really?

The little kid had some funny moments.

But talk about a cliched, manipulative pile of shit. The only reason this wasn't just a lifetime movie was because Sandra Bullock was in it.

And if the "academy" thinks that Bullock's performance was the BEST female acting performance of the year......then 2009 must have been the worst year in movie history for female lead acting roles.

A thousand actors could have played her role and delivered the exact same performance that she did.

I dislike movies like this. It's paint by numbers, dumbed down for the masses, predictable, you know every joke before it happens, after the first 10 seconds of a scene you know how it's going to play out.........and it amazes me that people loved it or thought that Bullock deserved an Oscar for it.

Along with rating movies - R, PG, G, PG-13.....they should also put an IQ level on movies. "This movie is appropriate for people with IQs under 90."

As for the Secretary?

Maggie Gyllenhaal ........it's a f*cking shame that Bullock is more popular than Maggie. Bullock is chicken-mcnuggets from McDonalds. Maggie is a rib-eye steak and lobster dinner.

I've just seen Treasure Island. I liked it. Not as good as the book (But what film is?). I love films about pirates. ^_^

Hurt Locker. Boring and pointless. Dumb confusing subplot. Some guys trying to get themselves blown up for a futile cause? You had me at goodbye.

Avatar. Jurassic Park meets Star Wars. Woke up for the dog fighting at the end.

have to watch four movies for holocaust study over the weekend: "cabaret","six million paperclips","defiance", & "schindler's list"

After Shoah, Night and Fog is the most vital film on the subject. Both are astounding documentaries, but if you have time issues, you're better off checking out N&F, as Shoah is nearly nine hours long.

Apollo is right (everyone is at some point), The Blind Side is hokum, Bullock's Oscar win is the single most laughable actor non ever and Maggie Gyllenhaal is the awesomeness, particularly in Secretary, the sexiest, most romantic film ever made.

Clash of the Titans?

More like Clash of the Gay.

I love the Original as the effects were amazing back then and give the film great character just like King Kong (1930s) I just hope that this is not like the King Kong remake and just all about the effects and so boring >.<

I heard that movie sucked. My family were going to see it last night, but instead saw that movie How to Train Your Dragon (wasn't too thrilled to go see it, haha). It was better than I thought it would be, surprisingly. I wouldn't go to see it by myself, but it was probably better than Clash of the Titans.

Did you see How to Train Your Dragon in 3d? I did and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Moguls - Film I picked up simply because it was cheap and Jeff Bridges was in it. Pleasantly surprised that it was actually really good. Jeff at his usual magnificent best. Like a much funnier version of Zack and Miri Make a Porno.

Oldboy - Finally got round to watching this after it was recommended by numerous people.. didn't dissapoint. Fucking awesome film.

Legion - One of the worst films i've ever seen. Makes so little sense it's incredible... the angel of gabriel wields what appears to be some sort of electronic mace.

Yeah. 3D effects are getting a lot better. I like how now it's about adding more depth than just something randomly popping out of the screen (in this movie at least).

Yeah I completely agree. Think the only time a thing popped out of the screen was when there was the fish in the lake and the dragon popped his head in.

It is exactly like King Kong.

No one has character. Perceus has an Aussie accent. And the plot is a whole bunch of shit.

It's definitely all about the effects.

Awh shit.

There was me hoping Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes would save it.

I just watched Clash Of The Titans (original) the other day and to be honest it creaked and heaved like no other. I love Jason And The Argonauts (the skeleton fight is beyond superb) but Clash just didn't click for me. I thought that Olivier didn't have enough authority as Zeus and the less said of Bebo the better. Oh, and why did Medusa leak ketchup from her neck when she died?!
