Marky
What were the new songs like live? At the last Euro concert (Wembley), I attended and they only played The Blues! Axl infamously went off as he was ill, so I was just wondering what Madagascar, IRS, Better, CD and the scarcely-played TWAT were like live? Did they get a good reception or a bland one? Spuffy78
Better had a pretty good reception I also think it's a great song live the same with IRS.
Lone Sal Bug
The crowd goes quiet, they stand completely still (cept' for the diehards ofc!) I think there was a bit of energy when Better was played, other than that Iunno, I expect the crowd warmed to The Blues..Because..well it was fantastic. Chris Axl
Chinese Democracy was amaazing. When they came on for the encore, and dark and those cool red lights...... Robin starts the riff. Very well recieved. So was Madagascar, people actually requested it. Many people(me included) was chanting "Madagascar"and Axl goes "Your bitchin' is my command.."Better was just kickass. He did hes whole "Downloading motherfucker speech".IRS was one of the best songs played, the band played it really good and Axls voice was AMAZING on this song. So much power! Now I just need to hear TWAT live
GNR 1991
"Better" got a bigger reception than some of the old GN'R songs. People in Oakland were singing along even, it was bizarre. As far as sound? My favorite song live is "Madagascar". Especially from Rock in Rio III (2001) and Inland Invasion (2006).
FunkyMonk
I didn't notice anyones reaction cause I was too busy rockin' out, but I noticed Madagascar got a pretty shit reaction from the crowd. Probably because it's so long and boring (if you don't know it). I think people were like WTF during the speeches part, that didn't go down well. F*ck Fear
I can't really recall what kind of reception the newer tunes got last time they played in Toronto. I know that I was rocking the fuck out everytime. Better was the best song of the night for me. Axl was on top of his game.
hbkdx1125
The crowd goes quiet, they stand completely still (cept' for the diehards ofc!) I think there was a bit of energy when Better was played, other than that Iunno, I expect the crowd warmed to The Blues..Because..well it was fantastic.Exactly! For the show I went to, during every new song the crowd just kind of sat there. The die-hards sang along but everyone else was like "what the hell is this?" Personally I think that Better, The Blues, and Madagascar were awesome. Chinese Democracy was great but not as good as the leaked version. IRS was okay but it just didn't do it for me. Personally it felt like it needed something more. Overall the band did a good job on all the new tracks though.
