Shackler's Revenge (Guitar Pro File Now Posted)

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I'm making a Guitar Pro file for Shackler's Revenge. I started with the guitars tuned to Dropped D, then put them a half-step down from there. That works for nearly all of the song, as the song is in D Minor (technically C# minor because of the tuning). However, there is a D flat note that is lower than the low D, and the only way I figured this could work was using a 5-string bass and a 7-string guitar. I changed up the guitar settings, and now what I've got so far sounds pretty much exact to the song by my ears. It appears to work, unless there was some other way they acheived this lower note.

Just a little tidbit I thought I'd through out there, as I did not see it mentioned anywhere else.

I'll post the Guitar Pro file once I get a bit more work done.

Edit:

Here is the link for the Guitar Pro file, it's not finished so people can feel free to update it, make changes, and then post it back here:

Good sir, i eagerly await your submission. Are you going to do Guitar Pro's for all the songs from Chinese Democracy?

Xtap, after he sings "I've got a funny feeling" it changes to a lower note for "There's something wrong today".

ChineseDemocracy, I'm not sure if I'll get around to them all but I'll probably do a couple more.

I'm pretty sure that lower note is a flattened 7th, putting it in the harmonic minor scale

Hope that helps

wrong, you mean the sharpened 7th of the minor scale, thus making it a harmonic minor scale, like Am scale with a G#. G is Am's 7th, but G# is its raised 7th, turning it harmonic.

i figured the song out via rock band and separating the tracks. for my band, chinese democracy, we tune the e string down to B (the rest are tuned down a half step). this allows us to hit the low B and the intro riff and get those low notes without having to buy a 7 string. i don't feel like tabbing it out, but i highly recommend getting Rock Band, then play bass or drums on practice mode, but then don't press any button. then all you'll hear are the guitar parts. there are lots of surprises under there that are impossible to make out with the full version.
