dslah
If we're doing radio edits, take the intro out of Scraped and release that as a single already.
wasted
I can see this "average joe" getting smashed on meths and singing along to "If the world would end today" as he crashes his hire car into the front of a Denny's.The Blues seems more for coke snorting Porche owning hollywood executive producers types stuck in traffic on a Friday night.Suppose it depends on what car you drive. They should just put all the songs out as dvd singles. D-GenerationX
Speaking from a U.S. perspective, I simply cannot imagine songs like ITW or TWAT playing through the radio to American audiences. It simply would not catch on, imo. I can't imagine people singing along to TWAT.It comes down to which songs have the most mainstream appeal to the biggest consumer area in the world (the U.S.).The "average Joe" or college kid driving down the highway with the radio on....and what they can sing along to.And imo songs like TWAT are nowhere near that category.I don't expect "average Joe" to sing those lyrics.I expect him to sing lyrics to songs like SCOM.From this perspective, this new single choice makes perfect sense.I agree. How about the people suggesting 'Sorry'? Are you nuts?? Totally morose soundwise and the lyrical content is just about how the world is against Axl.How is that a viable single option?BetterStreet Of DreamsScrapedI.R.S.These are the singles off this album as it pertains to commercial accessibility. Are they the four best songs? Of course not. But though I may love 'There Was A Time' and think its the best tune on the CD, its not a radio tune. Aussiegun
If The World is the most danceable song on Chinese Democracy. If The World is the most skipable song on Chinese Democracy.YesIf the World has an alright groove to it, but there's so much wrong with it, let alone dance to itIt's repetitive, Axls vocals over power the song, It doesn't sound like Axl at allThe only way it could get a good run would be as a remix. It would probably make a good doof doof song.
Journeyman
SOD is the most recognizably GNR track on the album. It's like something off UYI and sounds like the most commercial thing on the album. Perfect for playing on the radio or sports car stereos. This may be true. But am I the only one that thinks its odd that the only evidence of this single that exists is a newbie on a message board. No, single listed on industry and radio websites, no mention on the GNR website, or the myspace, HTGTH, no radio station announcement or radio station website anywhere in the U.S. - it just don't add up.Even if someone uploaded a radio edit, it don't mean dick. (computers are excellent for editing audio tracks)I have heard the original leaks of Chin Dem edited so that the AIM noises were gone, what does a bad quality radio edit prove?First of all, I'm not the one who put the radio edit on youtube, so i guess, obviously, someone else has the promo single like I do...cause the radio edir, altough its low quality, has the same cuts as i have in mine (that i remind you, came from Universal directly to my hands. Second, I may not post a lot, specially here, but just check out my username in chinesedemocracy.com or htgth. I f the posts werent deleted, you will see i was the first to confirm that universal had an official release date of november, and the first to have CD in my hands! Im not a liar, and sure as hell im not a newbie

Hell_Hound
The song initially sounds interesting, but I get bored with it about half way through.when initially listening to the demo, i used to find myself feeling the same way. it wasn't until we got the final version, with axl belting out that "what i tell ya" during the outro, that i started to realize just how special of a song this truly was. Guest
http://www.esnips.com/doc/55df9224-4cd0-46...e-radio-versionThat radio edit is terrible. It really destroys the flow of the song when it kicks back in earlier for the "what i'd tell ya?"I don't see why a song has to be edited down 20 seconds for radio... *shrugs*
A.J.
Has there ever been an edited GN'R single version before? It really makes no sense to edit this song though. It's not that long.Anyway. I don't think this single will be released too soon since they seem to be putting out Better first. Why else would they work on a video for Better if the next single was gonna be The Blues?!?
