About the capacity/number of audience members:

I have a friend in Tokyo who went and reported about the show. First of all, he said the show was amazing and one of the favorite concerts he has ever been to. He also is a fairly new Guns fan and has only listened to Appetite for Destruction really, but despite that he still said it was awesome and that Axl was great.

The show was not sold out. They moved the stage up so that only half of the dome would be used. Even in that half, it was not completely full - he estimates maybe 20,000 at the most. (capacity of whole Dome 55,000) That is way better than the Osaka show though, at that Dome, according to Japanese message boards only maybe 9,000 at the most were there.

Also I'm trying to find confirmation on whether the opening act really was AKB48 or not. (there is no group in Japan called AK48 like Axl said in his twitter; at least not that I know of) My friend showed up after the opening acts, so he doesn't know. If it was AKB48 though, man that is funny and awesome - Axl must have seen them on tv or something when he was over there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaFe5xiOeSQ

Holy "ending of Don't Cry" Batman!

We can see it's being proshot by Guns, so we can only hope. This is the likely show for the DVD of course, obviously from the Feb 92 VHS/Laserdisc release.

No, we can't see that. Why do you say it's being proshot for a video release? Just because there's video screens? There's always video at big concerts. That doesn't mean they're planning to put it out on video.

There's cameras so they can put the band on the screens. That's the primary reason. There's no camera on a dolly track, with a little boom lift, like you'd expect if they were shooting it for release. They're using pretty static cameras, nothing like what they'd need to make an interesting dynamic looking 2 hour video. I mean, I'd still buy this, but there's no indication of production quality from what I can see. It's just bad speculation to assume a DVD is planned.

no not really, how many of the shows from the illusion era have been officially released on dvd?

1 fucking show, and it was one of the worst even though they were taping shows for 2 n half years time.....

the big mystery about the cameras and shit you see at the gigs are the video feeders for the big screen :P
