vicious
hey last december i was running ubuntu and vista, when i upgraded vista to windows 7. today i reinstalled 7 because it was booting into safe mode randomly and my keyboard wouldn't work.i chose to install it in the windows partition, like before, but now when i boot my laptop it no longer shows the BIOS dual boot screen, it just loads windows.I'm pretty sure i still have linux on its partition(i cant remember the size of my hard drive and which partitions i gave each)is there any way for me to fix this? i can give more info if needed
highvoltage
You probably need to fix the bootloader. When you reinstalled Windows 7, it would have written over the bootloader and made the computer forget there was another OS installed. You can do it manually following a guide or get a free program to do it for you.

highvoltage
thanks for the help.i've just googled "fix bootloader" and all i'm getting is tutorials on how to fix vistas(or XP) bootloader. is it mostly the same thing? also am i fixing windows bootloader or my laptops bootloader? if that makes senseWindows' bootloader. It's WIndows that needs to recognise that there's another OS installed and it needs to give you the option to boot to it. There were big changes between XP and Vista bootloader editing and there's been some small ones between Windows 7 and Vista. Like I said, there are tools to do it, you're better off using one of those. EasyBCD (exe)Wiki entry on EasyBCD
