I'd be up for it also. I live in Northampton, so not far, and I often go to to gigs in Birmingham where possible cos I hate the o2! I'm staying in a hotel called nitenite http://www.nitenite.com/ which is walking distance from new street... £60 for the night - it's a nice little hotel if you don't mind the small room.

As for pubs.... I like scruffy murphy's which is next door to the old carling academy - again, walking distance within the city centre. Not sure when it closes on a Sunday but it's open til 3 most days. Heavy rock and some metal are the tune of choice there, and they put on live bands. The flapper and firkin is cool - that's along the canal just off broad street - walking distance again. They do live bands and mostly play rock music. Or there's broad street which has a whole street of bars and clubs - not my thing but may be others! There's a walkabout and flares along there.

And that's about as far as my knowledge stretches - if anyone else knows more then please let us know :)

Can't wait.
