Guns N' Roses: Chinese Democracy 2 Rumoured For 2011

Before its eventual release in 2008, it was said that there would be democracy in China before Axl Rose got around to putting out Chinese Democracy. Now, a mere three years after the original volume was released, the internet is awash with rumours after telltale comments from guitarists DJ Ashba and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal hinted to a sequel.

In a surprise appearance on a Mid-West American radio talk show, the pair confirmed that the band were back in the studio. When asked if fans could expect another Chinese Democracy, Bumblefoot responded with this cryptic comment: "all I’m saying is that fans should expect some noise from the GN’R peace corps in 2011"

While there is no word yet on the tracklisting, many forum members have speculated that tracks such as Checkmate and Sway, that were believed to have been jettisoned from the original Chinese Democracy, may be making an appearance on the sequel album. What’s more, there have been some claims made that the tracks Ain’t Going Down, Bring It Back Home and Crash Diet, left over from recording sessions by the original line-up of Guns N’ Roses, may be reworked for the new disc.

What remains to be seen is which personnel will feature on the latest Guns N’ Roses disc. While the current line-up of Guns N’ Roses features Axl Rose, Dizzy Reed, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, DJ Ashba, Richard Fortus, Tommy Stinson, Chris Pitman and Frank Ferrer, the band’s recent reunion with original bassist Duff McKagan for a one-off show in London have led some fans to believe that he may be performing on the new record. Indeed, if the song Crash Diet features on the album, Duff may be taking the lead vocal as he did during the original recording sessions for the song back in 1993. There is no word yet as to whether Slash will be involved in the project.

Duff didn't sing Crash Diet......and it was 'originally' recorded prior to the UYI days, not 1993....but meh.

Either way, if what DJ and Ron say is true, then it's damn good news :D

But, didn't Ron sit in for a radio show today (or yesterday), is that quote from him real? Dj has mentioned them being back in the studio sorting out the existing material as well as planning to record some new.

The last two paragraphs are obviously pure bullcrap based on nothing. Maybe they have skimmed through some forums and picked up a few twisted ideas, not unlikely lets be honest. The only thing I could see happening is a cover of Sway, as well as "Checkmate" of course.

Not so sure if this was meant as an April's fool, why wouldn't they go all the way and say "CD 2 set for release" or something.

It only says "rumored".

The only part of this "article" that is important is the thing you pointed out. If Bumble said that, I'm very excited about what could still happen this year.

member when Ron was talking in the beginning of 2008 that the album was going to be set and that is was just negotiated with the suits or something like that?

saying that there'll be noise in 2011 doesn't have the same ring of confidence.
