Majestic Beast
What a horrible album from ryche!! This is the GAYEST and the WORST album along with American Soldier in their career. This band is dead, they finished, they dont play prog metal anymore, they sound like a bad copy of U2. :thumbsdown:Only two decent songs i found on this crappy album, the rest is total bullshit. Majestic Beast
The fall of a big band,Geoff you must retire this name,Queensryche are DEAD,dont destroy the history of the band with crap music. QUEENSRŸCHE Singer: 'Rock Is Pretty Much Dead' - July 18, 2011Classic Rock: Songs like "Wot We Do" sound like hip-hop. Can rock fans handle that?Geoff: Well, I think they should. Rock is pretty much dead. If you look at the numbers, it's definitely not the music of the times anymore. If it's gonna keep moving, bands need to embrace new ideas. There's a lot of elements to rock that, mentally speaking, are kinda boneheaded. Like the whole "chunk-chunk-chunk" guitar progression — the stuff you play when you're learning the damn thing. You would hope bands would get beyond that.http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=160793  Edited July 25, 2011 by Majestic Beast

Val22
I loved Queensryche in the late 80's. Operation Mindcrime was amazing. Saw them perform the whole cd twice. And Empire was great too.Kind of lost interest after that and when Chris DeGarmo left, I think they lost their mojo. Now with a new singer, maybe they can get their shit together. I've seen them perform in concert many times, so I'm not really interested anymore. But they did have a great run.

I was very dissapointed in Mindcrime II but was not surprised as DeGarmo wrote a lot of the songs on the original with Tate.Just another band who ran out of ideas after a while IMHO
Zeppelin
I like a lot of songs from QR's newer era without DeGarmo. But they never had another really good album after his departure. Nothing that touched their golden era. And I'm afraid that with Todd taking over, they still don't have it. It's easy to see them trying to sound like the QR of old, but they just fall flat. Tate is Tate, but the new Ryche just offers nothing substantial. Other than some good moments on Tribe, O:MII, and American Soldier, this band pretty much died after 1997. I hate to say that too, because I'm a huge QR fan. But the band just doesn't have any soul. I see plenty of people regarding their new effort as better than Empire and Promised Land. But it never even touches those records. It has no depth. No impactful songwriting a la 'Out Of Mind' or 'Anybody Listening?'. Nothing to grab onto here, unfortunately. It's a shame really. But the band is pretty much dead to me at this point.
