Powerage5
Updates so far from Van Halen News Desk's Twitter:"Dustin at VHND HQs again. The show HAS begun. Problems should be taken up with USTREAM. We will have more information after. #vhnyc""Correction. Streams are provided by Cafe Wha? We are not sure of status. Will update when we know. #vhnyc""Dustin here again. Don't worry, VHND is in the Cafe Wha? right now, but cannot report back here due to lack of cell/internet service. #vhnyc""Van Halen rocking NYC right now! #vhnyc #vanhalen""Upright pic of Al from @Roth_Army #vhnyc"Stream seems to be down They mentioned this one being played tonight. Get. The. Fuck. Out.I'll be stoked if they revive some of the old demos!
dalsh327
VHND put the photo up of the line outside - upside down. Was trying to see any familiar music critic faces in the line...It's been mentioned they were going to use a few unfinished songs from the old days the way they did with "House of Pain". Not sure if they changed the "Mean Streets" part of it and put another solo in. We'll find out soon enough.Sounds like it just let out by some of the tweets.. James Bond
I'lll be taking the girlfriend so I can't afford two shows (Buffalo and Toronto) so I have to pick one or the other. Decisions, decisions. Either date is equally convenient. I suppose I might have better luck with better seats in Buffalo but it's hard to say. dalsh327
Nice!Sounds like I was right about them modifying and replacing the "Mean Streets" part. I do hope they release the original demos, because I listen to those almost as much as I do the live and the classic 6. I've never cared much for "Jump", to me they could do that song badly and wouldn't really care as long as they plow through the first 4 without fail. I kind of get why they didn't do the encore - leave the audience wanting more. Hagar's criticizing them for recycling stuff, but it's like criticizing U2 for sounding like old U2. We can get tired of Axl or Eddie trying to reinvent the wheel sometimes in interviews and trying to distance themselves as far as possible from the past. Creatively I get it, but as a listener, you want to have some consistency.
