hi all,
don't know if it's in the right section, but I find this topic interesting for ALL GNR fans.original or new band fans.
whether you know it or not,Izzy is perhaps the most important reason why we are all here today.

both Duff and Slash describe Izzy as being the most important creative force in the band from conception till he had
the balls to leave the band at the height of their powers.Izzy didn't give a fuck about fame.

his vision shaped AFD and the Illusions.even though he doesn't play much on the illusions he had a hand in most of the songs.
let's show our love for Izzy with pics and videos.
have a lovely week.

with the nadir of late, and what seems to be the end of the GNR name,I found myself thinking about why I got into GNR and what about GNR that matters to me.
hence Izzy and this thread.I get in a good mood thinking about Izzy and the original band.

I think his real importance has more to do with that he was the only one able to connect to Axl and bridge the gap between him and Slash rather than his actual song writing abilities (but he's great at that too).

I wish I liked his solo stuff.

Brownstone, Patience, YCBM, Don't Cry. He even came up with the chords for SCOM?

Izzy rocks. It's such a damn shame he left. Things might have turned out so much differently, had he stayed.

the problem was the band were taking his songs in a direction he didn't like much. I think anyway. All his solos records are just bare bones. Axl and Slash would take them and make them epic.
