If not, here's a video pinpointing some interesting points I tried to articulate (along with some other, shittier points). Just a bit of fun, really: Also DC is currently starting in a play that Barbara is producing...that should be a more clear-cut sign that he's gonna come back (after a lengthy break). Bond 25 probably in 2018/19 I love the CinemaSins videos. I also quite enjoy Honest Trailers. There's a Spectre one for that too. Othello is getting rave reviews so Dan and Barbara are good at this play thing. The latest rumours suggest that MGM is still hoping for 2018 with Craig.

I'd accept it as a mini series on Netflix or something (Maybe some super faithful book adaptations?!?), but I think the main series should always stay in the present. That's one of the notable traits of Bond films, how they adapt to the times.
James Bond
After watching The Force Awakens (about a year late on that one), I can ascertain that James Bond himself was undercover as a storm trooper. Force my ass - he knew he had to help Rey. Might as well get the Star Wars/James Bond crossover miniseries underway.
DieselDaisy
I think they are doing a fairly decent job as it is. Craig era: two superb, one iffy and one a stinker. Not the worst ratio. Connery era began with four masterpieces then stunk to high heaven.

Despite what you think of QOS and SPECTRE, I think it's fair to say he's the most consistent of the four who have a sizeable number of films. Sure, some people don't like those two, but there's a FAR lesser gap between his strongest and weakest entries than Connery, Moore, or Brosnan. I mean, I do think Virtual XI is a fucking dreadful album, but that's not his fault, and I do like The X Factor. Blaze has some amazing solo stuff too, and when he plays live on his own and can do Maiden songs in his own key, he does them really well. I don't think the Blaze era was a good era for the band, but a lot more of that falls on Steve's decision making than Blaze.

So this suggests that, on some level, the pre-production cogs are turning.
James Bond
So the rumours that MGM is indeed aiming for a 2018 release with Sony financing and Craig aboard still hold some weight.

One of Colbert's guests last night has been in a play or something with Craig the last few months also. When Colbert said something about how Craig was moving on from the franchise and there was no word on who Bond 7 would be, his response was something along the lines of "Really? I'm not so sure. That would be news to me, and keep in mind I've shared a dressing room with him for the last few months". I'm confident our boy has one more in him
James Bond
I know MGM was pretty disappointed with SPECTRE's production. Not with how it performed financially but with how the press treated it up to and after production. Tons of details leaked, then obviously Craig's infamous comments, mixed reviews, and so on. It doesn't surprise me in the least that they've kept production this time around even more on the down low than usual. That said, if we don't get an official word of a release date by summer I'll go back to being skeptical.

Agreed with everything, though I'd like to add we really have until about December before we can rule out a 2018 release. Over on /r/JamesBond on Reddit people are already freaking out about how 2019 is the earliest we can get Bond 25, and I reminded them that Skyfall wasn't officially announced until November 9 (Exactly one year before the release), and SPECTRE was announced the first week of December (Approximately 11 months before release). We're not at all outside of the normal schedule for pre-production of a Bond film.
Powerage5
The president of Omega watches is meeting with Daniel Craig later this month: http://www.jborbisnonsufficit.com/2017/02/14/omegas-chief-to-meet-with-daniel-craig/ That's an extremely good indicator that Craig will be back for Bond 25.
ZoSoRose
Rewatched Spectre. Fuck, all the criticisms kind of caught up with me. I loved it on the first watch, but now I just think its meh. Not nearly as good as Casino or Skyfall (still better than Quantom, of course). The Blofeld reveal was so poorly done imo. His introduction was so cool, and Waltz' acting was top notch. It was just the whole "I was your sort of brother kind of remember? Now I am a super villain and you are a spy. Btw, everything in your past is connected to me lol" didn't work. Very poorly executed. Still not a bad flick, some parts are great, but I would like Craig to leave Bond in a blaze of glory Edited February 19, 2017 by ZoSoRose
PappyTron
I thought that the henchman was great; had a kind of Jaws meets Red Grant vibe.

Sadly we got very little of him. They could have done with more with his gouging eyes out (we only see it once) and kept him more to the "one step ahead" a la Red Grant. I would have liked him to survive to Blofeld's lair and get a proper finale there where Bond can fight him.

I thought that the fight on the train was great and very reminiscent of the aforementioned Red Grant. One positive is that we don't see him die, and whilst it'd be a little silly, he could make a return.

It could be a Jaws scenario where it's assumed he's dead, but comes back in the next film.
Black Sabbath
Started to re-watch Spectre last night. Then I remembered how awful the opening song is, which then reminded me how boring I thought the movie was originally. I'll watch it again eventually. The song is such a downer after the excellent pre-title sequence. I ordered Skyfall's single right away - I still do not own a copy of this wretched tune.

Not that many Bond songs get a vinyl release, so I felt obligated to as a Bond fan, not as a fan of the song. Seeing better sales on the vinyls they do release may push them to release more as a 7". That's the only reason I bought it. Really wish there was a 7" for You Know My Name or Skyfall...
