Powerage5
Everything is pointing to him coming back. We know between the helicopter purchase and location scouting in Croatia that pre-production is well underway. If Bond 7 were to debut in the next film, we'd have some heavier rumors on casting - all is more or less silent, other than the "wouldn't such-and-such be great as Bond?" type offhand comments. Add on the meeting between Craig and the president of Omega watches. There's too much adding up for it to not be true. Obviously we can't say for sure, but I'm 95% sure at this point Craig is back. BlondeIllusion
I think it's interesting that Craig keeps complaining about Bond but he keeps doing it. But, that's a contract for you.
James Bond
Plenty of sources picking up on Daniel Craig's imminent return so things are definitely moving along. Apparently Jeffrey Wright also teased a return on Instagram. I'm all for his Felix making another appearance. http://www.businessinsider.com/daniel-craig-one-more-james-bond-movie-2017-4 http://movieweb.com/james-bond-25-felix-leiter-returns-jeffrey-wright/ Once again it's being mentioned that P&W are writing the script so I truly believe that things are further along than even the source seems to know (or is willing to share). I mentioned earlier that after the disaster of spoilers and marketing for SPECTRE I'm not at all surprised about how quiet they're being this time around - quieter than usual, and that's saying something. I'd hardly say he "keeps complaining about it" - he always goes on about how much he cares about the character and the films. He's been actively involved in the scripts, director selection, casting, etc... beginning with Casino Royale and even got credited as a co-producer on SPECTRE. His infamous "slit my wrists" comment obviously garnered a lot of attention, but he's known for having zero filter and speaking his mind. He later clarified that that particular question was asked literally the day they finished filming so he was just burnt out from the lengthy production process. During his "Beyond Bond" Q&A session ahead of that Othello play he just did he was quite possessive of the character so there's a genuine fondness. In regards to his future as Bond he kept saying things like "We're doing this... Barbara and I are talking... Bond thinks he's done at the end of SPECTRE but I don't...." and so on. He's also not under a traditional contract - Michael G. Wilson confirmed in the past that the contract is open. He can do as many as he wants or he can walk away when he wants. That said, I believe Bond 25 will be his final one.
James Bond
Double post but I didn't even realize this was coming out: I remember George was working on an autobiography a few years ago but that it had apparently been shelved. Seems it's been turned into this. Half biopic, half documentary. It's been getting rave reviews and sees an international release on May 20th.

DieselDaisy
I think he is sick of Bond personally and just doing it for the cash. Like Doctor Who, Bond tends to exhaust its actors.

James Bond
They've apparently locked a distributor for a one film deal. More fuel for the Craig fire - since Bond 25 is likely to be his last then EON probably wants to make sure a distributor doesn't interfere creatively in the search for a new Bond. In the meantime, the distributor gets a guaranteed success with a Craig Bond.

The only recent bond news story I can find online is that five studios are currently bidding for the rights. Has the bidding war come to an end now? You're right - my mind misread/transposed the bidding war with subsequent news that Craig's stunt double has signed on. The other part is still true - it's a one film deal for the distributor.
DieselDaisy
I still say Bond does something to its Bonds which makes them want to bugger off after three or four films. Witness a bored Connery in DAF and YOLT.

Witness a bored Connery in DAF and YOLT. Even Pierce looked pretty bored in DAD despite his enthusiasm for returning. Roger might be the lone exception. He looked terrible in AVTAK but performance wise he was as good then as in any of his other films. I think there's an argument to be made that Roger was the most consistent in the role. Silent Jay
Chris Nolan might produce 25. Edited May 7, 2017 by Silent Jay

It seems that this rumour is coming from another as yet unconfirmed rumour that Warner Bros (and Syncopy in particular) won the little bidding war for distribution, but of course that doesn't necessarily mean Nolan will be directing although it would certainly push him closer to that spot.
