Look who's in this one

Kylo Ren and James Bond? Christ, these two universes really are connected.

On another note, I watched the new Lazenby documentary last night. There's nothing overly new in it but it's a good watch and it's nice to hear him talk about everything in a concise documentary. There isn't too much on the making of OHMSS itself but he does explain his decision to leave the franchise and stands by it.

Lazenby was going to be in Game of Death and was due to meet Bruce Lee the day he died, Game of Death which coincidentally in its posthumous form would acquire a ridiculously good John Barry theme. Something still came from the meeting as he ended up making three films for Golden Harvest including Jimmy Wang-Yu's Man from Hong Kong.

He's honestly not a terrible actor. I've seen worse performances from A-listers than what Lazenby gave us in OHMSS. A little wooden at times but for his first role ever? He's pretty good. It helps that they surrounded him with top talent like Diana Rigg and Telly Savalas but nevertheless I think he would have grown into the role nicely in that "what if" universe of Bond.

I would if I could!

Sadly David Arnold had emailed Chris Cornell a day before he died to ask him to be a part of this. The title sequence will no doubt take a new emotional meaning when it's performed that night.

He was pretty convincing with Diana Rigg, though it may have to do with the fact they had an affair. Lucy dog.

What made Lazenby convincing that he was bad ass in the fight scenes. Those punches look like they hurt. I think he is the toughest Bond out there. After all, he was special forces. He also looked natrual holding a gun due to his training. The best parts of the film was when he was Sir Hilly with his voice dubbed by the actor who played the real Sir Hilly. That and the ski/car chase that lasted like 20 minutes.

Speaking of themes, since the next film is presumably the final Craig film they should break from usual tradition and put You Know My Name over the ending credits. A nod to Chris Cornell but also a fitting end for the Craig era to come full circle. Seriously, that song and melody is such a huge part of his Bond image. Casino Royale's whole score is just brilliant.

On that note - bring back David Arnold!

I don't know about you guys, but after Craig is gone I just might be done with this series. I wonder if the Cubby's children would be too?

Michael's sons are already involved so I'm sure they'll take over. I do think the series needs a long break after Dan is done. Even though there's been gaps between his films I do think the series needs some time for the batteries to recharge.

They need to dedicate it to Rodge also.

That's a given.

That was rough week for the Bond family.

I suppose the current geopolitical climate has made it ripe for a change of direction. With the new Cold War we are in.

Official Statement:

James Bond will return to US cinemas on November 8, 2019 with a traditional earlier release in the UK and the rest of the world. Bond 25 will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade and produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. The film’s cast, director and distributor will be announced at a later date.

No word on if DC is still Bond.

Unless they lock him into a 2 movie deal, this will probably be it for him.  He just complains on the promo tour about it then a year or two goes by and has a change of heart. Of course this could all fall through, too.

I think he's playing a redneck in an upcoming movie.

There was a rumour floating around the Bond forums about a week ago that the film was going to be delayed a year to appease Daniel. I'd say he's a lock and that this will indeed be his final film. Glad to also have the official word that Purvis and Wade are handling the script. Now we just need a good director and David Arnold.
