What another GNR´s song do you want Myles or Todd singing

One In A Million, without the offensive lyrics.

The song is too damn good to be buried forever because of just three words.

Nobody gives a shit about the N word nowadays.

Name a mainstream white singer or white rapper who has included the word in their lyrics within the past 5 years, either on an album or in a live performance.

Hell, even Em refuses to use the word.

Just because some black performers use it (without the r), that doesn't take away from the offensiveness when a white person says the word.

Well.. Not that I agree, but I love Mickey Mouse ;)

You should, because he sounds like Mickey Mouse and the fact that you love or not love Mickey has nothing to do with it. I love Mickey, in TV, not in my favorite rock band ;).

I just don't like it when other singers than Axl are singing his songs, just like a lot of people don't like the new members playing old stuff. You know what I mean?

Slash's band is not called Guns N' Roses. Also, those are NOT Axl songs, are REAL Guns N' Roses songs.

I'm talking about the lyrics, which are Axl's. Ofcourse they are THEIR songs.

AFD and both Illusions records have many songs not written by Axl, so your point was? :shrugs:

I thought Axl was/is the singer :shrugs:

And? Singer =/= Solely lyricist.

Do I have to explain like we're in preschool? Here you go: Axl is the one who sings (and wrote most) the songs on stage and in the studio. Myles/Todd/Scott or whoever, aren't Axl. So I don't like to hear them sing the songs that are supposed to be sung by Axl.

Just like some of you guys don't like to hear DJ play Slash parts.

Now you're dancing in circles. Were you expecting any of these guys to sing the songs like Axl? Impossible, not even Axl is able to do that.

Axl is still Axl to me, and he still sings like himself

And no, I'm not expecting them to sing like Axl, I don't want them to sing at all. That's my opinion ;)

My point was that back in the 80s when Axl released the song it was like a big fuckin' deal, today; not so much. It's old news, specially in the US. It's not like I was trying to say that is not offensive anymore.

Wrong. Duff said in 2004 that Axl did not write the music for Gn'R (aside from November Rain and Estranged).

Go call Duff a liar now.

I`m not calling Duff a liar but truth is Axl has sole songwiting credits on Novermber Rain, Dead Horse, Shotgun Blues, Breakdown and Estranged to name few

I agree, but your initial response came across as you thinking Myles or Todd wouldn't have to remove that word if they did the song. They most definitely would have to remove those three words, but they could pull it off without the song losing it's appeal. They have changed or removed words in other GNR songs (ie: Brownstone) and the songs still rocked.

They won't play Don't Cry because it was always more of an Axl song, but I would love to see Slash play that solo again and I think Myles would kill on that song as it is the kind of GNR tune he does better with than the real hard fast ones. Not to mention it would sound different than Axl's version musically because it would be just the 5 piece band (how it was probably written in the first place).

Nightrain - Todd

Perfect Crime - Todd

Back Off Bitch - I think they'd both do a good job on this one

Garden of Eden - Todd

Don't Damn Me - Myles

Coma - either, maybe even split the job

Locomotive - Myles

You Could Be Mine - Myles

Since I Don't Have You - Myles
