Man, I wanna see Maiden again. I never thought I'd see them, but I've now seen them twice in 3 years and I'm hooked. As a longtime Maiden fan, it's a pretty surreal experience.

Saw Metallica in Abu Dhabi tonight, 2nd time seeing them, 1st was back in Feb '09 in Sheffield. Was surprised they only played one Death Magnetic track (and we give Axl so much shit for only doing 5-6 ChiDem songs a show...). Good show, overall, though, happy I got Fade to Black and For Whom The Bell Tolls which I didn't last time. Was also surprised they brought Orion out, my hardcore Metallica fan friend is really jealous of me (they've only played it 41 times, apparently).

Loads of Iranians with flags everywhere. It was insane. Also saw Saudi, Lebanese and Syrian flags. People came from all over for this gig. The Fan Pit was crammed for this gig, unlike for GNR (same venue) where you could walk around, and my dad (who again was in General Admission) said there were twice as many people in GA as at the GNR gig, too.

Got this pick as well (they literally throw bucketfuls out, pretty easy to get one), it's the song that got me into Metallica and still my favourite, but I haven't heard it live yet (that may be a reason for me to see them again):

They came on 5 mins later than GNR did! What is the world coming to??!!

I'm predicting next year will either be an off year for them, or they'll do a mini tour of Australia/Asia for Maiden England. The US shows this year really mess up their tour pattern.

EDIT: I'm also thinking of going to the Uproar Fest show with Coheed, Circa Survive, and AiC, but that one is going to be harder.

How can you afford to go to so many shows all over the world? Are you Iron Maiden's Jarmo?

I just bought tickets to see Dropkick Murphys at the House of Blues in Boston on sunday. It's a benefit show they just booked for the marathon bombings. Knowing Dropkick... it's gonna be fucking awesome.

They could probably sell out a benefit show across the street if that was feasible.

Anyway, so far this year I've seen Bon Jovi (I was part of a large group doing service work for spring break, this was an evening activity, shut up) and Lynyrd Skynyrd (friend had extra ticket, they were playing in town and my town hardly ever gets any shows. I had seen them 9 years earlier. The show was exactly the same but it was still fun, nothing mind-blowing).
