ZoSoRose
Well, just got back from seeing Elton John in Detroit. I was very impressed! Almost a 3- hour show, crammed with all the hits and a lot of other tunes, very talented band, perfect sound, and it had a minimalist production and focused more on the music. Was also impressed with 2Cellos, opening with a few tunes and playing with the band throughout the showAnd, my favorite Elton tune, Funeral for a Friend/ Love Lies Bleeding opened the set, very cool! username
My definitive 2013 list! A total of 12 dates, but it was definitely quality over quantity. Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen, Black Crowes and Van Morrison were the absolute highlights. The kind of concerts that somehow transcend. With the first two being just untouchable and the other two very close behind. 2013-12-10 - Van Morrison, Daniel Lohues @ Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam 2013-11-24 - Maria Mena, Christel Alsos @ Paradiso, Amsterdam 2013-11-18 - Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit, Cosmo Sheldrake @ Bitterzoet, Amsterdam 2013-10-06 - Joe Bonamassa @ Martiniplaza, Groningen 2013-09-18 - Leonard Cohen @ Ahoy, Rotterdam 2013-08-25 - Maison Du Malheur, Puggy @ Noorderzon Festival, Groningen 2013-08-24 - La Chiva Gantiva @ Noorderzon Festival, Groningen 2013-07-01 - The Black Crowes @ Paradiso, Amsterdam 2013-06-22 - Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band, The Black Crowes, Jamie N Commons @ Goffertpark, Nijmegen 2013-04-12 - Boudewijn de Groot @ Oosterpoort, Groningen 2013-03-22 - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Transfer @ Paradiso, Amsterdam 2013-02-08 - Doe Maar, Herman In Een Bakje Geitenkwark @ Martiniplaza, Groningen On to 2014! Powerage5
Finishing off my year with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones' Hometown Throwdown in Boston. Last night was the first gig, 2 more tonight and tomorrow night. They do a different setlist every night, so it's usually about 60-70 different songs over the 3 gigs
