Coheed and Cambria - all of their albums are fantastic

No they really are not. I like them, but they're all over the place imo. I can't just throw one of their albums on and go about my business......I have to use the skip button.

Sunny Day Real Estate - The Rising Tide

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree, but I can see what you mean. Each album is somewhat of a roller coaster ride and I find myself laughing at Claudio's vocals every now and then. I love that about C&C though, every album has so much

 oh shucks

I would honestly say that I love every album. I'm convinced that one is my favorite and then I'm convinced otherwise a month later. Almost all of their albums have occupied that place for me.

I feel the same way, can't possibly rank them. I heard Gravemakers and Gunslingers on the radio the other day and have been on a No World For Tomorrow kick ever since

Although alot of people dislike TOOL, their albums kick major ass. Their live shows can get a little boring if you've seen them multiple times on the same tour, but if you haven't seeing them live is a great experience. I've seen them 8~9 times over the years since Aenima came out, never been disappointed.

yeah tool is where its at haha, looking forward to seeing one of there shows some day in the future if maynard doesnt keep dicking around, besides the obvious great progressive rock albums i would say people should give oceansize a listen, there very progressive and mellow and have these great build ups

I think Tool is an excellent band, I really love everything they've done, but I can't justify spending over 200 bucks to see anybody live especially on top of travel costs these days. Hope whenever they get back on the road they get the fuck over themselves and offer a reasonable ticket price

  • 3 years later...

Forgetting for a sec about Yes, Genesis, Rush, ELP, Dream Theater...

Pretty much anything Neal Morse has worked on is good prog. From Spock's Beard to Transatlantic, Flying Colors and the Neal Morse Band. All good shit.

Kaipa from Sweden I recently discovered, and they've got decades of solid prog

Ritual is folky prog, I dig the mashing of styles
