Hard for me to get insanely excited about a cover album, but still cool nonetheless.

Normally I'd totally agree, but an old school Stones blues album gets a big pass from me. It's like going back to their early days, and they picked a lot of lesser known tunes. Having them crank it out in  a circle in a few days is just the best thing they could have done. This is one of the very few exceptions I'll make where I am as excited for a covers album as I'd be for original material.

they sound incredible.

I don't care if it's covers. How could it be different? The blues has been mined to death. What matters is, it's the rolling stones giving a fresh interpretation on the blues. Keith with his trademark open G tuning, mick with his harmonics and bad ass vocal delivery. charly with his rock solid drumming. and with Eric "god" Clapton making cameo appearance. the inventor of playing blues through a marshall amp with a les paul. doesn't get any better than this.

THIS will be under the Christmas tree. Not hardwired....to suck.

Im very excited for Hardwired, too, but this I am VERY excited for. Don't forget about some good Ronnie licks!

If we're comparing, I'm infinitely more excited about this than the new Metallica album. But that's mostly because I don't really expect anything good from Metallica anymore anyway. Whereas the Stones doing a blues album is more of a holy grail'ish thing.

No kidding! I had considered it for a quick second when I first heard about them playing Vegas, but didn't wanna spend all that cash. Pretty ironic though- this is what I was afraid of happening in April!!!
