I guess my list of songs sort of slowly get "softer" but then it comes back with Shackler's. No one is stopping you from doing what you want to do.The way the songs are listed on the record, I actually love it but it's so top heavy. The best songs are the first eight in my opinion. Only problem I have is that the tracks were done over such a long period and every single song is so layered and over produced, ESP over such a long period of time that the album doesn't really flow well. It's a decent collection of songs, but doesn't flow together well like afd uyi1 and uyi2 do. Except my world. That doesn't fit anywhere. I burned a copy if uyi2 just so I could omit the track. Thanks again, team brazil!TB weren't TB for the release but I get what you are saying.But ITW, Shackler's, Chi Dem, Better, SOD wasn't a bad run of singles, I just think they needed videos to give them more exposure, a visual presence in people's mind and for people that just watch tv or youtube. If ITW had a proper video made by cutting footage of Body of Lies with a live show at least.Shackler's - Mickey Rourke plays the Shackler, cheap b-movie horror vid with the band as the victims.Chi Dem - like an Oliver Stone movie with lots of political footage cut with band live performance shots.Better - remake SCOM vid in Best Buy warehouse.SOD - band plays in front of Hollywood sign, then shots of them riding down Sunset in Ferraris.Unfortunately the band broke up before they had chance to shoot videos.But I think every song on CD could have been a single. Chi Dem I don't think ever got an official leak, it was a live song. I guess I saw ITW as Heavens Door on a movie, then Shackler's as YCBM pre-release single, at that point on release they needed to drop the hit, that could have been Better, then This I Love is Nov Rain style thing. Then videos for TWAT and Catcher could have extended it GNR style.But actually live, it's Chi Dem, Better, SOD, TIL - so maybe they are the real singles. That's why its my opener.'Chinese Democracy' at RIR III, I love. That's the version that makes my playlists. The studio version is an overcomplicated mess of what is a straightforward 3 minute rock song. So I am likely one of the few that won't have it in their 7.'There Was A Time' is my favorite of all the new songs, and the only one that might make my alltime GNR top 10.
