Interesting Izzy Stradlin 1993 Interview -- [Finding happiness after Guns]

Post Guns N' Roses Izzy Stradlin very eloquently explains how he discovered peace of mind after leaving the band. This was 1993 and he was already comfortable with his new role as leader of Izzy Stradlin & The Ju Ju Hounds. Particularly intriguing was his characterization of Axl -- even as of '93 - as the very embodiment of the kind of stress that he drove him from Guns. Osamu Masui interviewed and Steve Harris interpreted on Sept. 22, 1993.

For those who care and those who haven't listened to this. It's a cool interview. Izzy talks about his departure, the reason he rejoined Guns for a few shows, why he left after that and finally, Ju Ju Hounds.

Guy's a fuckin' legend in every sense of the word. He does his thing in GNR as "the quiet one", "the reserved one". Writes the lion's share of their songs, plays half the riffs on the album that got them famous, and then disappears into the sunset while the rest of the band implodes on itself.

Izzy is such a badass when he ain't broke.

What makes you think he's broke?

It's an idiot's way of justifying him playing with Axl again. Duff is also broke, and Slash has been broke both times he tried to get back with Axl. Steven was completely broke until the HoF.

Steven is always a junkie who lives in the past.
