Johnny Drama
Here She Comes Now - Nirvana Where Did You Sleep Last Night. Duh.The Foo Fighters version of Prince's Darlin Nikki is awesome too.Its good but Dave Grohl don't ooze the raw sexuality of the Purple One. GivenToFly
When you judge how good a cover is do you judge the cover version on its own or relative to the original? I mean, do you just think of how much you enjoy the song in its cover version or do you think about how much it improves over the original? Guest Len B'stard
When you judge how good a cover is do you judge the cover version on its own or relative to the original? I mean, do you just think of how much you enjoy the song in its cover version or do you think about how much it improves over the original? It's just gotta sound good for whatever reason for me. Sometimes covers come across as limp takes on the original and in those cases i tend to judge based on the original. Often i like a cover because it takes the original somewhere different, in fact more often than not.
