saber_
Everyone has a nostalgic love for the various previous incarnations of Guns n' Roses. There are fanboys of Slash, Buckethead, Robin, Steven, and hell- the list goes on. But at what point is it time to accept the present and have faith in the creative process? Oh I know what you're going to say: "when I get a new fuckin record! " Fair enough, but still... at some point you must come to terms with Axl's trajectory and creative vision. When is it time to let go of a reunion or an older lineup? Edited November 11, 2013 by metaforcesaber

bran
if you are still clinging to a reunion or a return of a lineup after 20+ years, you have issues. Edited November 5, 2013 by bran

WhazUp
I don't think - especially given all that has happened - that it is really rational for anyone to be expecting a reunionNothing wrong with wanting one because you think it would kick ass though. But wants and expectations are two different things Edited November 5, 2013 by WhazUp
ITG
I would after your voice is shot, your musical inspiration is gone, your album failed, your fans are gone, and your guitarist whom you've been waiting on all these, years still hasn't apologized and has in fact moved on without you. When is it time to let go of a reunion or an older lineup? I let go of it a long time ago. I love the original Guns n Roses, but I know it's over. I'm very, very happy I've seen them 8 times in the past and those shows were a blast. I will always cherish those memories. To me the original Guns n Roses and NuGuns are different entities. It isn't always easy - rather confusing really, as the differences are so big, but I try to be realistic and open minded about it. MEXzilla
RrHoF was the last chance and even that kinda felt to dream like. So yeah just let it go and support/don't what ever floats your boat with the band members or nuGnR.
Definite_Maybe
The truth is, if Axl offered (and maintained) a suitable NuGNR version from day 1 people wouldn't keep going on about reunions as much as they are. The reason a lot of people call for a reunion is because they see the revolving door NuGNR as something that can't be taken serious. It's not a band with members who play with any chemistry, it is only a bunch of individuals who are the only ones (At this time) willing to stick around in an environment where even other replacements have cut and run. When you look at this band play they look like a bunch of individuals up there because the paycheck and opportunity is good. There is zero chemistry on stage between any of them. They are a bunch of hired individuals up there to do a job, which is allow Axl to tour. Axl could have built a legitimate NuGNR, but continues to this day to fill it with the most inappropriate people he could find. You pair that up with his stubbornness/laziness and you have a band that is going nowhere fast.In my opinion, the time for a reunion is over. Axl has reached a level where he is a a laughing stock in his quality of performances and appearance. At this time he's not even fit to be on a stage with the real GNR. He actually fits perfect in his pseudo parody NuGNR that he continues to flog. It's like the whole thing is a bad joke and the chubby guy wearing 50 oversized rings, an oversized yellow raincoat, a bad 1970s porn moustache and an 1800s Shakespeare hat is just the exclamation mark and a fitting frontman for such band.In the same breath, Axl is smart enough to know where this lineup stands, which is why he's not rushing out to record or do anything significant. He knows what is the purpose of this lineup and is comfortable with that. It's confirmed he was trying to get Buckethead/Brain and Finck back a while ago, so in the least we know he's never really been sold on this lineup. No other reasonable person has been sold on it either, except for the usual suspects who worship every move King Axl makes...*cough South American worshipers.Just go with the flow, if you enjoy real GNR, a band that was electrifying on stage, there's plenty of youtube vids documenting their legendary concerts. Just enjoy it. Unfortunately you can never get that magic back again. The world has moved on though, GNR as a whole is no longer relevant. wasted
I like CD and don't see the old guys really topping AFD or UYI. So the blank canvas of the new line up seems more interesting. They could still do a reunion tour. I worry about the backlash or the indifference. Axl isn't going to tearing across the stage like the UYI tours. I'm happy to wait for the next record. Axl just does things on a bigger scale and it takes longer but it's worth it. There arent many records I'm still listening to 5 years like other than CD. Rovim
I'm getting pretty good at letting go of any attachments to certain line ups. Thx Axl!The most important thing to me anyway is hearing the rest of the Chinese material, and getting as much new music as I can that contains Axl's vocals on it.Reunion hopes have left my mind years ago. DR DOOM
Well I think people want reunion/2001 era lineup back because they want Axl and GNR to be a force again, and to carry through on the promise of kick ass music most of us were waiting for since 94 or whatever.
