So who's got the new Panther album All You Can Eat?

I fnally picked it up last week, and it's pretty good.

I don't think it's as strong as Feel The Steel or Balls Out, but there are some solid riffs and pretty funny lyrics on there.

My favourites tracks so far are Pussywhipped, Glory Hole and Bukkake Tears.

Seems to get better with each listen too

Its my least favorite of their 3, but that was to be expected. Their other two are just really good. The first is a classic and the second is an incredible hard rock record with comedy as an added bonus.

This was the first one where I felt the shtick got a little tired. I didn't think any of the songs were THAT great, like I did with the others, and overall I thought its just the same thing over and over again they've been doing. There's nothing new, whereas the second album was a huge step up from the first. The music is good, but nothing stands out to me as great. Its simply the music that they play and that has to be put behind the tracks. By that I mean the riffs aren't as catchy or great as the first two albums.

Not a bad record though. My favorites so far are Pussywhipped, Fucking My Heart In The Ass, BVS, and She's On The Rag. Even Party Like Tomorrow Is The End Of The World grew on me. Overall though, I don't think any of these really surpass stuff on the other records. The lyrics are ok but I didn't even think they were that funny, just a bit played out and trying too hard. I've heard the album about 5 times through and my opinion hasn't really changed that much. Still can't wait to see them live in about a month, but I don't think this album will nearly get as much play as the others did for me.

But again, I'm not really surprised. The act was going to get old eventually, and it was now kind of the music that was the saving grace which I think isn't anything special on this record. Also, one last thing about the lyrics is I loved how current they were on the last album. The Charlie Sheen stuff, etc. There were some killer lines on that record whereas I think the lyrics were pretty lazy this time.

I haven't been able to give it a good listen yet due to computer issues, but I did get to hear it once all the way through a few weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it, given that I basically hated the singles. For a while I thought Steel Panther had lost it, with their ridiculously OTT web promotion and rubbish singles, and then not releasing the Glory Hole single. The two highlights for me were B.V.S and Pussywhipped, I'm sure I liked more I just can't recall - but those two really stood out. I'd give the album a 7/10, and that's only from one listen, I expected my view of the album to improve as I get into it more.

Sorry that it didn't work for you gunsfanoldie, I can't comment on whether or not this album is of FTS or BO quality yet, but I'm thinking it will be up there with them.

I actually think I prefer it to Balls Out, but I don't think they'll top their first album. Favourite tracks at the moment are Bukkake Tears and Gloryhole... (The video is pretty funny too!)

Saw them a couple of weeks ago for the 6th or 7th time, good live band and a bit of a laugh!

Yup, have tickets to see them in May, will be my 3rd SP show - always a good time.

I don't like the new songs as much as the first 2 albums

Glad I'm not crazy. Don't they seem a little lazy? Am I the only one that hears that? I don't see these being staples like the others kind of are already. 17 Girls is staying, there's nothing anywhere near as good as Supersonic Sex Machine, Let Me Cum In, Gold Digging Whore. I just hear the album as going through the motions.

Having said that, still can't wait to see them. Saw them 3 times in LA last year and then twice on the Spreading The Disease tour so I guess this'll be #6. Never gets old and I'm curious to see how many new songs they play. Obviously the 3 singles but they play short sets, and as has been mentioned the first album is alone is filled with classics they feel obligated to play every night so I'm curious as to what the sets will be.

  • 1 year later...

I saw SP open for Judas Priest and was so surprised at how good these guys are. yeah, they are in your face and vulgar, but hey it's all in good fun.

I actually bought the cds for my adult kids. I have listened to their songs and have seen their videos and I just laugh and laugh.

It would have been sad if these guys weren't very good musicians.

I'm hoping SP comes back to headline a show in Dallas. I would love to see their whole show live! I have their dvd, but you really got to be there!
