Oscar Pistorius trial

Is this a slam dunk? It just seems almost cruel to be streaming it live. What can he really hope to get? Manslaughter?

It just seems hard to believe he really thought, right now I'm just going to shoot by model girlfriend and go to jail for forever, that seems like a good idea?

This Nel guy just seems to be randomly bouncing between things try to show OP has a complete liar, but unless he has proof, he kind of has nothing?

Even if he doesn't get done for murder he will be done for manslaughter and possessing illegal ammunition.

Regardless of what happens it seems like Oscar will have jail time.

Nel is one of the best though, hes flip-flopping to try and create pressure and cause Oscar to crack/ slip up so he can pounce on any inconsistencies so has to be hard on him.

It just seems like a sad trial. Like yeah he's a dumbass for having a gun and illegal etc. and what is he thinking unloading into a door. Unless the pros can really paint him more as some evil killer, which seems unlikely as he just won the olympics? or is it that they are just trying to paint him as a reckless idiot. It's just not as fun as OJ who was like obviously a coke head piece of shit.

Very sad indeed, but like you said the prosecutor has to nail him to get a conviction. All the defense has to do is introduce reasonable doubt and he will have a lesser charge. Would be surprised if he didn't end up with a jail term though.

Minimum term for manslaughter is 5 years.

Yeah I think manslaughter seems about right. but you could get worse. What kind of idiot just fires like that.

5 years then out in 3. Kind of ruined his life. Makes me just feel fine about staying and watching the ceefax pages.

It's disgusting that some people (news media, etc) are making a profit of such a tragedy, but then again, it's the usual thing. I don't know if he is guilty or not or if he is teling the truth so I'm not gonna comment about that part.

he's guilty of something. them profiting from it doesn't seem as bad as I feel watching it. one thing is certain, lawyers scare me. that if you make a mistake there's some bastard who will make you pay. most lawyers I've known theres an element its all a game, almost like they have chip on their shoulder about something. kind of creeps me out that part of them is missing and thats what makes them good at their jobs.

The thing that I don't get is that he denies the charges of firing a weapon are a restaurant, out of a moving car and possessing illegal ammo. Really don't understand why he didn't admit to those charges, certainly makes it seem like he wants to deny everything and not accept responsibility.

I think he's just been told not to admit to anything that can't be proven. if he admits to shooting off his gun before and somehow he had an altercation with girlfriend with history of it. then he might as well say plead guilty and get it over with. his lawyer must think he has a chance. plus show remorse. theres no way to know what he thought. without some prior incident or motive, it's manslaughter?

So they asked if he heard her scream when he shot her. His response (after "composing himself"):

"My lady," he said, "at no point did Reeva shout out, or scream. I wish she let me know she was there; she did not do that."

People need to lay off blaming the media for everything, whatever else the media did/do, see those holes plugged into Reeva? That weren't the media

What I mean is they're always bought up as the whipping boys in every situation, Trayvon, this thing, Heysel, umpteen other tragic things...but it's worth noting that it ain't them making the shit happen.

The fact that reporters are following you doesn't change speed limits I'm afraid, they're there for a reason, so they're following you, let em follow, it's better than dying in a car crash, isn't it?
