Marc, please, your take on Axl's performance

Hello Marc. I'm new on this forum, so I apologize if this has been asked and answered before.

As you are probably aware, there is a lot of criticism regarding Axl's voice in the past few years, mostly regarding his overwhelming use of a clean voice. You've spent time with him, and have a history with the band, so your take on this, if you have one at all and are willing to give it, would be much appreciated.

Back in the day, was it by any means noticeable that Axl's was putting pressure beyond what was healthy on his voice? Or did he ever voice a desire to sing more cleanly instead of using his trademark "shrieking" voice?

Do you have an opinion on why he has changed his singing style so much, if it`s an artistic choice, or due do valid health/physical limits that you have been aware of?

Regardless of an answer, I`m really grateful for your time spent answering us.

Axl has so many different pitches and has always pushed it to the limit to hit his goals. I think if he feels great, then he will sing great. I don't really know too much about how he keeps it up. I think he is a bit smarter about how he worms up and stuff like that then he was back in the day.

Interesting.

Did you ever hang out with him immediately after a show, and his voice was hoarse (maybe coincidentally it was a rough night for his voice as well)?

You never heard him directly say anything about his voice?

In 2002, his voice was drastically different than anything we've ever heard before - of course everyone loved the fact that he was back out performing, and his pitch was perfect. But did he ever mention why he changed his style, or if he had voice therapy or something?

Cheers.
