A question to those who are still hoping for a reunion.

Recommended Posts

Why? What do you honestly think would get accomplished? Any hope for new music would be out the window..I mean hell..I'm digging seeing Duff on stage with them, and part of me hopes he comes back full time, but realistically, I can't see there being new music if he comes back..Seems like it would just be a touring thing to me, and since I only get to see them once every 3-4 yrs, I'd much rather roll the dice and hope for new music..I guess we'll wait and see though..Thoughts?

Appetite/Illusion lineup had:

-chemistry on stage

-released more music

-released epic musicvideos

-could write hit songs

-is considered by majority as Guns N' Roses

-whole music world would speak on reunion if it happened

-fans would go cracy, literally..including me :P

-then there is this thing that you cannot describe it with words..It's like you cannot describe to outsider your love towards your girlfriend/wife..you get it???

We fucking need this reunion now!!!!! :headbang: :headbang:

But do people really think if a reunion happened that things would be the same as it was? Would Slash and Axl really have chemistry after everything? Would Izzy look less uncomfortable than he usually does?

No it would not be different but a start for something completely new

nah, they can reunite and write new songs if they want.

reunion will always be better than seeing axl's current silly band covering gnr's greatest hits.

i have absolutely no faith in bbf, fortus and ashba's talent, i think they're mediocre.

Gunnari- That was 25 yeas ago now..Do you really think that magic could be recreated? Do you even care about hearing an unreleased GNR track again? Because it just seems like this could be a step in the opposite direction... Who knows..maybe Duff (If he does indeed rejoin) could work wonders with Axl..but I just honestly doubt it at this point..Would love to be proven wrong though..

Yes I believe the magic can be recreated..Those guys are meant to be together..Let the past be past and let's work things out..It can't be that big a deal to work things out between Slash and Axl..Maybe Duff can help to get those guys in the same room?

Pretty simple. Because if all Axl is gonna do is milk the nostalgia from here on out (and all signs are currently pointing to that being the case), might as well do it with the people who made the nostalgia in the first place. As opposed to a frankensteined "band" of faceless musicians covering music some of them weren't even fans of in the first place. If people are so worried that a reunion would just be about a money pit, I don't know how they don't then laugh hysterically, tears rolling down the cheeks hysterically, at the irony of rooting for nu guns .

There's no general demand for new nu music anyways. The people heard a "Slash-less, Izzy-less, etc." gnr. "No thanks" was the general response.

As for the "chemistry" thing, Slash, Izzy, Duff, Steve, and even Matt all generally get along swimmingly and still jam together from time to time. Axl, Duff, and Izzy are all cool. Matt Sorum claimed to have patched things up with Axl in 2006. And Axl seems to be more annoyed by Steven rather than flat out hate the guy. The only main hatred is between Axl and Slash which would HAVE to be resolved before either one of them would even consider going through with a reunion anyways.

Honestly, I believe that if Axl and Slash can work through their personal differences, I think they could quickly find their musical chemistry again. Think about it, these two were ying and yang, always polar opposite. But their chemistry was always peanut butter and jelly. So complimentary. So natural. That kind of chemistry is so one of a kind and rare, it can't just simply perish. IMHO of course. If they could just be brought back down to Earth I believe it could be business as usual. Neither one of them is ever going to find somebody better suited for them than each other.

Given the state of Axl's vocal performances, I don't think it much matters who he stands on stage with.

DJ, Bucket, Slash, Eric Clapton. What's the difference if he sounds like crap?

The biggest plus side to some impossible reunion is shutting up the whiners harping about it going on 20 years. That's worst something.

Dude... do you really want Slash, a guy who makes new material every now and then (but has a very bad taste for singers), to reunite with Axl, a guy who seems to be totally out of this world and can barely sing?

Why? Don't you think it is better for him to just stay solo? There won't be chemistry, as Axl already did those late starts and stuff that he didn't like in the past, when he was in the band. A reunion won't bring magic, just frustration.

If you think Axl will start releasing stuff because they reunited and everything will be magical, then you're totally out of your mind.

Imagine if the original band ever did a one-off show. I am not talking about some benefit show where they perform 2-3 songs and then jet, I mean a full set one time. It would be the most intense show we've seen from any of those guys in decades, possibly ever. They'd all make sure they were 110% prepared and they would give it their all just to show each other the mistake they made for breaking the band up.

Yeah, Like Axl would really just step out and start singing like he did in the early 90's/ late 80's. Did he sound any better when Duff joined in? Nope.

Lol, would this reunion not have Slash? Do you not think that Axl would want to come out and prove that he never needed Slash in the first place to succeed?

Something about seeing the people play the songs that they wrote really appeals to me, call me crazy. I really like CD, but new music is going to be CD leftovers, that is clear, so it's still music written by people who are no longer here. Besides given all the trouble with the record company, I highly doubt any real hits haven't been released. I feel that CD part 2 would be like CD, but like most sequals, inferior. Who here really honestly thinks Atlas or the General is better than TWAT or Maddy? Probably just more of the same, but not as good. I'm not saying they are bad songs, but not NR or Estranged epic, I'd bet the farm on that. If they were, they would have been released on CD. Besides as I said before, the guys that helped write those songs are gone anyway. Do I want to hear this band cover the old band and the 2002 band, or do I want to forget about the CD leftovers and get Duff back, fuck yes give me Duff. This is a no brainer imo.

I like NUgnr, and have supported Axl through all of this, but a reunion would be amazing. Even with Axl as is, it would be the real guns n roses, that is worth way more than any NUgnr recordings imo.

If that's the idea, then having the guy that you don't need in order to succeed while you're doing your best kinda defeats the whole purpose of it all, doesn't it?

If I really wanted to show him how good I am without him, I would make a reunion minus Slash and then I would sing like fuck, to show everybody that I don't need him.

The chemistry was lost towards the end of GNR, so I doubt there would be chemistry now especially between Slash and Axl.

Those days are over and you can't go back.

Even if the original lineup wrote new music and toured until they died, some people would still bitch and moan about something.

Not everyone would be pleased and I don't think the same magic would be there anymore. It's a shame, but I believe it's true.
