moreblack
Not crazy about it, for me Angel Of Retribution was their swan song.
Raz0r
Not crazy about it, for me Angel Of Retribution was their swan song.Yeah, it didn't do much for me either, though I'm still interested in hearing the new album. I haven't heard any of their recent albums yet, I'll have to remedy that soon.
moreblack
I'd stay away from Nostradamus if I were you.
Raz0r
That bad hu?Reading some reviews for it now, allmusic.com says this: " Nostradamus, on the other hand, manages to live up to nearly every Spinal Tap cliché (non-deliberate, laugh-inducing cover art; melodramatic spoken word interludes; rhyming "fire" with desire)."Lol
Zint
Kinda meh, imo.
Zeppelin
I don't mind it, but it's really just Hell Patrol Pt. 2.
bran
I don't mind it, but it's really just Hell Patrol Pt. 2.yeah that is what i said as well, sounds just like hell patrol . the production kind of sucks as well.
ShadowOfTheWave
Nostradamus was a disgrace. How could the same band that wrote the songs on Sad Wings of Destiny & Stained Class write cliche shit like "I am Nostradamus! Do you believe?" Awful. Zeppelin
Nostradamus had some awesome stuff on it. It was just too all over the place. I mean, yeah, it has cheese, but Judas Priest is full of cheese on almost every album.Besides, Future Of Mankind is an awesome final track, and one of Priest's best. But that's me. gunsfanoldie
IMO, it just sounds like they're trying too hard. Then again, I never was a big Priest fan. I give it a little more weight because they are legends, but I could see this coming out of any generic metal band these days.
Estranged Reality
angel of retribution was the last album i bothered with as well tbh, not that i had anything against any others since then but nothing has ever really grabbed me much.
bran
rob's vocals sound kind of tired as well, it sounds similar to the man on the silver mountain cover.
Majestic Beast
Album leaked and from my first listens its dissapointing, Rob sounds out of breath and very tired, production its mediocre,Battle Cry,Halls of Valhalla,Crossfire the only songs i liked. He better go and do an album with lady gaga.. Silent Jay
Some great moments, amazing riffs, one of a few rock albums I enjoy this year (with BLS). But of course, Judas Priest and Rob are old. The production is allright.Crossfire is surprisingly good. All the songs are decent honestly.Beginning of The End is a great finale. bran
been busy today when it comes to listening to new music, so i only gave this a once over so far. i think it is a solid album throughout. there is some mediocre stuff(redeemer of souls, metalizer) and some really good stuff(halls of valhalla, dragonaut, beginning of the end) and the rest just solid songs. i think overall it is better than nostradamus as an album although nostradamus best songs are better than the best on here IMO. 7.25/10 Edited July 2, 2014 by bran
Towelie
Quite like this new album. Battle Cry, Beginning Of The End and Metalizer are my favourites, as well as the title track. Metalizer sounds like something straight out of Painkiller-era Priest. Haven't listened to the bonus tracks yet though. Jakey Styley
For some reason Judas Priest hits me nicely, even if the song isn't that good. I enjoy this.
bran
the bonus tracks are quite good, and i think 2 of them would have made the album much better. never forget is a great ballad and should have been on the album. its a song that sounds like a thank you to the fans but also sounds like a farewell of sorts(which would suck)
Sixes
the bonus tracks are quite good, and i think 2 of them would have made the album much better. never forget is a great ballad and should have been on the album. its a song that sounds like a thank you to the fans but also sounds like a farewell of sorts(which would suck) I just heard the bonus tracks today and I think all of them are good but I think they made a good choice leaving them off of the proper album as they have a completely different feel...the album reminds me of a mix of Angel Of Retribution and Painkiller but the bonus tracks have more of a Defenders Of The Faith feel
bran
with the way it is now we get an album and an EP which is awesome. judas priest in their 60s can do this but axl cant even be bothered to do anything.
Zeppelin
Some of the material is actually really good, but the production is still baffling to me. It really hurts the album. But still, good material is good material, so it's nice to see Priest alive and well.
Sixes
what I found most striking on the album was when I thought, oh here comes a Halford scream...it didn't happen... Edited July 27, 2014 by Sixes
Towelie
Can't say I'm sold on the bonus tracks. I think they put the right songs on the regular edition. Never Forget is kinda nice, the kind of corny song only Priest could get away with. I've listened to the bonus tracks twice now and that was the only one that really stood out to me.
Val22
I got this cd the other day. It's sounds like old school Judas Priest.Rob Halford's voice sounds amazing and the guitar riffs sound so melodious.I'm seeing them in November. Can't wait. They are one of the all times kings of heavy metal.
