It's not often that we get to hear from Axl Rose, but this week, GNR's frontman was part of two major media releases.

Earlier in the week, Rose was controversially crowned the most technically capable singer ever. But days after, Axl issued an open response to Spin Magazine. Rather than encouraging the idea that he is worthy of such an accolade, Axl wrote in a manner that was quite self-deprecating. He downplayed his own abilities, and instead chose to write about other rock vocallists who he deems 'technically gifted': http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1s1u9qj

In other news, Axl partook in a very insightful interview with Revolver Magazine (who are affiliated with the Golden Gods ceremony, which recently honoured Axl's life-achievements). Despite the June/July edition of Revolver only hitting the shelves, a member of MyGNR has already transcribed the full interview: http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?/topic/207515-revolver-interview-with-axl-rose/

Members of MyGNRForum are cautiously optimistic about what Axl had to say about new music:

"We recorded a lot of things before Chinese was out. We've worked more on some of those things and we've written a few new things. But basically, we have what I call kind of the second half of Chinese. That's already recorded. And then we have a remix album made of the songs from Chinese. That's been done for a while, too. But after Vegas, we're going to start looking very seriously at what we're doing in that regard."
