recklessroad
I talked to one of the guys on the phone few years ago. He did offer to let me hear the songs. I didn't really push it and so I didn't hear them yet. Axl doesn't really support anything that is real old and on this one I don't really blame him because I'm sure it was not really a great production. Also I think the band was a metal band and thats not who Axl is. It would be the same thing as Slash playing on a Blacksheep record, thats not who he is either. No matter what it's still Axl singing so you know it's going to be somewhat cool. Edited June 1, 2014 by recklessroad
31illusions
I want to hear anything Axl has sung on (especially older demos) considering we have so little new material these days.

If the band was so great and the songs were so great, why not pursue it 30 years ago with a different singer?

When Nirvana released the 'With the Lights Out' boxset, I am pretty sure I remember Grohl and Novoselic pushing for songs that included Chad Channing, Aaron Burckhard and Dale Crover so that they'd get a cut of the royalties from the album sales. They wanted to help out the guys that helped shape Nirvana's legacy but didn't get to cash in on the success of the band like they had. Now granted I realize that Rapidfire was never called Guns N' Roses and they were different bands, but I'd like it if Axl gave them his blessing so that they COULD cash in on GNR's success. I see it as a win-win for everyone involved. The fans get never before heard Axl vocals and all members of Rapidfire (Axl included) get some money out of it. I see what you mean but the circumstances are a bit different. If any of the members of Rapidfire had contributed to Guns n' Roses they would have been given credit. For example, they (Gn'R), gave credit to Chris Weber for his contributions etc... Rapidfire was a totally separate band with no lyrical or musical connection to Guns n' Roses. Also Rapidfire isn't Axls band. So I think they would be giving credit to Axl for his vocal contribution. It seems strange because Axl is the famous one, who got famous in a different band. Its a total cash grab but I'm really curious to hear the complete songs. Just like I was when the Hollywood Rose disc/demos came out. Anything from that era with Axls vocals would interest me. He voice was totally kick ass back then. ThinkAboutYou
Kevin didn't get anywhere close to his goal on the kickstarter it was half way and only reached just over 3kSo saying it was a cash grab is a bit rich because the goal was only 20k
T.wa.T
Why not release it for free then?? Kevin was wrong to think that all GnR fans want the Rapidfire songs. His goal of 20k was unrealistic. He also admitted to doing it to recoup the cost. It would sell less then the HR demos.
