So it´s been 29 years since 6/6/1985. What do you remember about that day at the Troubador Marc? Not just the show but anything about that day.

Who was more in charged at the time? Duff has said in his book that Izzy brought him in. And also according to Duff that it was his idea to bring Slash and Steven.

It all happened so fast, a week before that gig Slash and was in Blacksheep and now Steven and Slash are playing with Axl and Izzy again but it was now called GNR instead of Hollywood Rose. I already knew Duff from when he tried out for Roadcrew a year before. So I already knew everyone before the gig started. What was different this time was the music was slower. They took away one of Steven's Bass drums. There was a grove to it all this time around and now Axl vocals could be heard instead of getting drowned out by the double Bass drums and the loud fast music that they used to do. Also they they all had a strong stage presence and looked really good while I was shooting the show. After the gig, I knew that they were matched well live. Also Don't Cry showed me that it was a good start to their songwriting and that was just Axl and Izzy. it just kept getting better with every new song that they put together with the whole team. The next day they were in a rush to leave town to play some gigs that Duff booked up north. All I remember is helping them get some 8x10 photos printed up so they could put in the window for those gigs.

Thanks a lot Marc! You have said not so long ago that GN´R started as a side project because Axl and Tracii wanted to play together. Was that the only reason behind the birth of the band?
