Come on Mike, Rush has some genius lyrics!!!!! :wow::wow::wow::wow:
In the constellation of Cygnus, there lurks a mysterious, invisible force: the black hole

of Cygnus X-1...

Six Stars of the Northern Cross

In mourning for their sister's loss

In a final flash of glory

Nevermore to grace the night...

[1]

Invisible to telescopic eye

Infinity, the star that would not die

All who dare to cross her course

Are swallowed by her fearsome force

Through the void

To be destroyed

Or is there something more?

Atomized...at the core?

Or through the Astral Door?

To soar...

[2]

I set a course just east of Lyra

And northwest of Pegasus

Flew into the light of Deneb

Sailed across the Milky Way

On my ship, the 'Rocinante'

Wheeling through the galaxies

Headed for the heart of Cygnus

Headlong into mystery

The x-ray is her siren song

My ship cannot resist her long

Nearer to my deadly goal

Until the black hole

Gains control...

[3]

Spinning, whirling

Still descending

Like a spiral sea

Unending...

Sound and fury

Drown my heart

Every nerve

Is torn apart...

To be continued...

I have no idea what's going on here....

Some bands you just don't get.

Geddy Lee's lyrics? ....um :book:

You know...

Sometimes you guys just love to point out the mistakes. I just said I don't like Rush, so why would I know 100% who writes the lyrics. Either way I don't like them. " Todays Tom Sawyer gets by high on you, and the space he invades he gets by on you." What the fuck does that even mean??? Even if it does "mean" something, it's pretty awful lyrics regardless.....

Well, in the context of the entire lyric, it takes some thought for it to make some sense, which it does.

There's lyrics with a thought process involved, and there's "where the grass is green and the girls are pretty".

Something for everyone huh? :)

The style that was brutally defiled, raped, murdered, and left in a ditch by Nobody puts baby in a corner, effectively ruining mainstream rock music forever. Every time someone says something like "keyboards don't belong in rock n' roll" I vomit a little bit. Pay your respects.

So it's a good thing...but bringing it into mainstream rock ruined mainstream rock forever...but people should still pay their respects? Because...?

No. It's a good thing that was defiled by Nobody puts baby in a corner (trashy 80s rock). Nobody puts baby in a corner ruined mainstream rock forever.

The keyboard professor is usually like a grade or two below the guitar player as the resident cunt of any given band. Noel Gallagher has a beltin' line about em that escapes me at the moment.

Keyboards don't belong in rock n' roll.
