cant believe they went from being a real punk band to this casino ticket giveaway-show kind of band. And i cant believe Tommy Stinson from the Replacements plays with them.

well, it's not gnr. gnr ended in 1996. this is just axl making money with random musicians.

Previous lineups made money, too, and no band members have ever been random so you haven't succeeded at establishing any distinction :shrugs:

I haven't seen it, but I'll argue "no" any day without simply because its a video and not audio only. Video is different in that there is the whole visual aspect, making overdubs unmerited. When it's only audio and you don't have lights and grand visuals, it's hard to excuse a not-so-perfect note. But when you've got the whole package like in a video, it's not.

They could have picked a show from 2010. It has already been 2 years since 2012 so either way these released are old news. Or release one from the better shows of this year's residency where Axl was the best he has been in a long time

That way it would be a win-win: Axl sounds good and there is no overdubs. With a performance that is average either way Axl would either get criticized for poor performances or for overdubbing it

No, because it's a live dvd. I'm sorry if overdubs happen all the time in the business (I don't know if it does), but I want a live dvd to be the real thing, even if that means it's not perfect.

"Not perfect" is too soft...

Let me put it on a diplomatic way: If Axl really feels to overdub, re-record etc. his vocals on every fucking release, then why don't he do overdubs NOW when his voice was a former shadow of himself...

If the rumuours are true, Axl didn't even know that this will coming out finally...

Eh

Still a number 1 release with nearly 5K copies in the USA 1st week alone, lol

Well, I've now heard and seen a large part of the bluray and I'm happy with it. No reason for overdubs imo. I'm glad we know he didn't do any, because now we know it is real, without having to question his voice in the parts where everyone agrees he's great :)

The parts where he sounds good are overdubbed, he was just too lazy to do the whole show.
