Popular Post UK SUBS Posted July 25, 2014 Popular Post Share Posted July 25, 2014 Hi all,It is with great regret - and a really heavy heart - that I have to inform you highvoltage is stepping down as admin at mygnrforum with immediate effect.Chris was very open and honest with me when I made the purchase a couple years back about continuity issues and support going forward and recently behind the scenes this is something we've been discussing for months; as he is moving his real life forward and just doesn't not have any reasonable time to help support and manage this forum full time (hence why I promoted Estranged Reality as a contingency plan).Argh..... Chris has been an amazing admin and even better friend to me and I'm under no illusions it's a HUGE loss for mygnrforum and I did even consider selling the forum a couple months ago -- I sometimes forget how young he is (or old I am!) as he acts with maturity and wisdom well, well beyond his age. Doing so whilst maintaining a very high pressured job and living his daily life with troubles that we all encounter. He's given me endless support both on and off the forum and I'm going to really miss him. Please join me in this thread to wish him all the best guys! I hope at some stage in the future we will work together on this or similar ventures going forward and the door very much remains open in that regard.In terms of the forum going forward; I'm delighted to firmly introduce ER as admin who I know will do an equally fantastic job of managing the forum on a day to day basis -- We will look to add one more moderator in due course and I may add a further admin in the not too distant future -- I've also had a few interesting offers for expansion so there's certainly some exciting times ahead. 14 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I know he is busy and has alot going on, for that I wish him nothing but the best in everything life throws at him. He is a great talent. I had little differences with him in the past, but overall, the guy is just spectacular. I'll still be posting (and likely logging in every day ) but after 10 years here and a staff member for all but 18 months or so of that... it's time to stand aside and allow someone else the opportunity to stand up to the role. Being 25 means I joined this place when I was 15, and it's been a part of life almost ever since. It's nice to think that I can get back to enjoying posting again - the whole reason I joined in the first place. I wouldn't want to stay in the position when I know I can't really do it justice where I'm at with work/life right now. I have some pretty big travel plans next year too and I'm looking forward to disappearing off the grid for a good chunk of it for more or less the first time ever. I know the site is in a position where it doesn't rely on any one person - ER, Subs and the rest of the staff have been an absolute pleasure to work with, and I feel really fortunate to be able to call every one of them friends. We have a lot of fun in the mod section blowing off steam and even though I feel like I'm letting them down a little, I know they'll be able to keep this place in great shape for years to come. I also want to shout out to some of the old team... Zint, Monty, Jack99, Eric, Rick and particularly madison - all great people who put a tremendous amount of time and effort into building this community into what it is today.Thank you all for the opportunity and your patience - it's taught me a lot about communicating with people. We used to post on the old official AC/DC forum before it went to shit. Eventually I got into GN'R, and HV talked me into joining here after Axl's whole "People will hear music this year" thing in 2006. Really bummed that HV is stepping down, but it's completely understandable. It was not surprising when you became a mod, and especially when Subs asked you to be his right hand man. All well deserved. Thanks for all the support you've given to me personally and for all you've done for the forum. People like you is the reason why I, and other members, keep coming back here throughout the years. The only thing that makes this a little less troubling is knowing that ER is a fantastic choice to fill your shoes. He's copped the wrong end of the stick sometimes, but it hasn't been warranted as i'm sure everyone in his position would make msitakes here and there. He's a diehard GnR fan and from one diehard to another, I want to wish him luck going forward in life.I hope to see him at future gnr shows where Axl will no doubt be as high pitched and out of breath like he has at the recent shows. Still better than nothing . (sorry I had to get that in there).And it was good laughing at the dj ashba/MAC makeup shows last year, its all for the love of music thats what we should all take away from times spent on these forums! I was really happy when you and Subs took over because you were the only two mods I never had any beefs with.
