username
I'm really tempted to buy this release. I've heard the audio and I absolutely fucking loved it. It's pretty expensive though! Any of you guys bought it yet? If so, how is it? How are the DVD and the book? Also, general CSN/CSNY appreciation. Lithium
I'm a fan of anything Neil Young did during that era.
DieselDaisy
The egos and excess in that band would make Guns blush. You have Young and Stills carrying with them their Springfield rivalry, Stills, a total ego maniac who used to fire off guns all the time and drive people crazy. Then you had Crosby fuckin whores and snorting the whole of Peru. Young also was, aloof, from the whole thing, refusing to ride with them and ditching them when he felt like it a la Stradlin. Nash was the only grounded one, although, coming from a more populistic stance, he failed to understand where Neil came from (and probably did not want him in the band if truth be told). Crazy. dalsh327
The DVD and book gives you the idea of what it was like to have seen it, but the CDs are definitely worth getting. I was like a lot of people who had seen the Wembley video and wondered what Nash was smoking to want to put that tour out, but now that I've heard it, it's a way more "electric" show than 4 Way Street. Hopefully Neil's Archives 2 is coming soon now that this is out. I was kind of surprised "Ambulance Blues" wasn't on it (and didn't know they had done "Long May You Run" at the time), not surprised "Carry On" wasn't. Val22
Liked the song Woodstock, but all the other political songs don't interest me much.
