I was wondering how long people's commutes are and also what commute times you think are acceptable or what you would be willing to put up with.

My longest commute was in 2012-13 when I lived in West London and went to university in Central London and it took me about half an hour each way by tube (underground train) and I thought even that was a bit too long. At the moment my house is about 3 minutes' walk from my work place and it's amazing!

i think I would be willing to accept an hour's ride each way if it was by train and I was guaranteed to get a seat. I'd just read or on the internet.

One of the many things I don't get about the USA is how willing people are to accept super long (routinely 2 hours each way) drives to and from work every day.

Biking to work takes 15 minutes when I am not taking the kids to the kindergarden, 30 when I do. It then takes 30 minutes home when I am not collecting the kids, and 60 when I do. So it really varies. It's acceptable because I get a lot of exercise and because I really don't like sitting on buses/trams or being stuck in traffic in my car.

My commute? Let's think.....

View forum, log on, respond to multiple PM's, ban multiple alt accounts from same persons swearing "never ever" to return to the evil empire of mygnr, read HILLARIOUS made up stories about me and mygnr, kill all children and animals in site, contact my attorney, count all my money, light a cigar...yep.... Ready to run the most hated fans forum on the net. I'd say about 20 seconds?

Then I have this part time Internet thing where it takes about 15 minutes in the car.

I work from home. It's awesome.

Me too. My commute is about fifteen steps from my bedroom to my office. :)

It really is great. I couldn't see myself going back to a regular job. Unless the pay was a ridiculous amount more than I'm getting now, or I basically had to in order to get by.
