Will your opinion of Duff change if he joins Nu-GNR?

It was funny, a civilian just saw my computer open on GNR Wikipedia page.

Exact quote: I can't believe you are reading their bio, aren't they dead?!

The bad part is....He's pretty much right.

I know that but when Im balls deep in CD II speculation I forget.

The other part was you must know the bio backwards? I don't know they keep adding new paragraphs every year.

It's like if you were under psychological evaluation you'd fail!

Embarrassing also. He could have been looking at something which would not destroy his integrity, like tranny midget porn or something or other.

GNR may be alive to Brazilians and people that like emo-techno-grunge-rock, but the career of everyone in the band right now is just stagnant along with the band's direction for the future. GNR as a creative band or a true headliner is over. Everything is on the decline and even though they aren't technically "dead," they may as well be.

I'll put it like this:

If you encounter someone that acts surprised that GNR are still going, do you want to be the person to say "Yeah!....." and then proceed to tell them the long horror story of nu-gnr? You only end up with the same result as if the band really was done. No new music. Same tired show that isn't even a true nostalgic show. It's a show people grew bored with 2 years ago. No new music planned for the future. No communication from the band. Not even communication between all of the band members.

If GNR guest starred on the Walking Dead, they wouldn't make it to episode 2.

But I don't care. I like Chinese, Liked the 2012 show I've attented, and I want to hear CD ll. I don't expect Axl to be normal, so I just try to take what I can get. I think it helps if you really enjoy the little Axl has released and you're over the fact old Guns is dead. Been dead for a long time now and I still want Axl to continue with the Guns name, and hear what he can do with the Guns formula which he knows pretty well imo. He is capable of incorporating enough Gn'R elements with different players that it sounds like a Guns song to me, so that's better then nothing. If Axl releases more tunes in the caliber of Better, There Was A Time, and Catcher, and tours that album right away, I'd be happy, so our situation is not the same.

I'd just tell them they released an album in 2008 and have been touring all over the world since then. So yeah, the band is very much alive.

If you completely omit that they've lost countless members due to inactivity and failure to move forward, the mythical chinese democracy was just another mediocre rock record, Axl can't be bothered to rehearse, the band hardly communicates, most likely another band member is leaving, they've been reduced to a vegas act that won't turn away playing a wedding for a quick payday and there's no sign that the band even cares about moving forward today. The band didn't even break through and they're on a steep decline.

Yeah, just say they released an album and continue to tour with declining numbers. VERY MUCH ALIVE! /sarcasm

You can't gauge everything by 90s success. You can spin everything negatively if you want. I think for the mainstream they are dead, even the old band is dead. If I go and ask my friends who used to play SCOM, Patience, Nov Rain now they'd just laugh. I know for sure one only likes classical now. The other proclaimed pop music is just to rip kids off.

The guys who care have a deeper interest and are right this isn't that line up that magic'd up AFD, or even the line up that put UYI together.

But out of those two records the audience changed, it's not as metal as it was on AFD. The ballads on UYI brought in a new audience. And again on CD, it may not connect with late 80s rockers but it plays to more pop rock audience and 90s audience that maybe liked some of those bands.

Not everyone cares that much about line ups and feuds. GNR just became like this big touring band. You can go and see a great show if you want, or not.

So I think there's an audience for this band, just not the same audience, and it might annoy some die hards but that's life.

Maybe it's a comedown from what was expected from the band in 91 but at least we got some Axl Rose songs and great shows.
