Dazey
Okay so we've given the Muslims a good share of shit of late so I think it's about time to mock the lunatics from other faiths. I picked this up today from a nice gent in the street. Can anybody tell me the glaring "deliberate" mistake? I mean at least let people get the plastic wrapping off before revealing your idiocy no? Snake-Pit
I was 18 when I found out about Creationism, and that was from this Christian girl who, I was talking to one day. I met her out and about in town and everything, but this was on MSN.She disputed something I said about us coming from cavemen. - Which at the time, going against Darwin was unheard of. - She then sent me a creationist link and that's when I found out it was a thing.Wow.I do think some dinosaur bones could be dragon bones though. rockerman
i had doubts about an universal intelligence up until I got into cadver lab and disected a human being... seriously. looking down on the how the whole dynamic was put together and how it functions helped me to believe that there has to be an organizing power..As for religion.. relgion is a man made concept that serves to explain and to exploit. Spirituality is another matter. Devoid of controling dogmas and cookie cutter concepts about how to recognize , appreciate and to examplify what ever that universal intelligence represents..certainty and peace can be attained. I find most religions a social event and not a spiritual revelation/explanation. Edited October 17, 2014 by rockerman

DieselDaisy
The problem with atheists - they are two problems in fact - is they are complete utter twats. They are probably right in what they say, probably (I am more the agnostic in that I leave a window open), but that is part of the problem as their smugness knows no bounds. They are like vegetarians or teetotalers: total cocks. Listen, who would you rather have had a party, a bunch of Catholic Italians or Irishmen, drunk as lords, or a bunch of atheists? Exactly. The second problem with atheists is that they always go on about religion so much. Dreary people.
Ketan
The problem with atheists is that they take religion too seriously. Personally i am certain everytime an atheist debunks a religious claim God shrugs and goes "dumbasses proving a dumbass religion wrong. What has it got anything to do with me?" SoulMonster
There is a lot of butthurtedness among theists, I guess it is inevitable that the understanding have-nots will be resentfull towards the others. I would think people who believe in unicorns are also whining about how awful it is to be proven wrong again and again and how smug the a-unicornists are to them.As for debunking specific religious claims, yeah that can be fun, but it is often better in a sort-of time-saving way to simply debunk godly existence than to bother with arguing over the minutiae of the religions. And godly existence is just riduculously improbable considering that we have no reason to assume any such supernatural creatures could exists in what appears to be a completely naturalistic world, especially considering that no phenomena in this world requires the existence of a supernatural entity for explanation. It is improbable and redundant. Edited October 18, 2014 by SoulMonster

DieselDaisy
Simply, do not discuss theism; you end up with far more friends and a better evening all round.
Dazey
Oi, this isn't about atheism at all. It's about people making grand proclamations without first doing their homework. The main point I was trying to make is that somebody clearly put a lot of time and effort into putting together and producing this book without checking one major fact. They're kind of correct if they're arguing that life didn't come about as a result of evolution because life absolutely did not arise as a result of evolution. The part where I think they've made a bit of a crucial mistake is in not checking whether any part of evolutionary theory has ever made this claim in the first place. It doesn't and never has. SoulMonster
Simply, do not discuss theism; you end up with far more friends and a better evening all round. That's good, considering I have never actually discussed religion on parties. I have never felt discussions about religion lends itself very well to parties. Seems like YOU have had some bad experiences in that regard, though, but don't take that out on me. I am not responsible for your boring friends and party mates.

I am not responsible for your boring friends and party mates.I am glad decorum exists at your parties. It is a pity we are not also recipients of it!Every atheist thread by Soul and his minions basically goes, ''I am right. i am intellectual smug. I will shout you down until you know I am right'', ''shout, shout shout'' then followed by the usual crass comments upon ''fairy tales'' which to be honest are quite insulting and would normally be rewarded with a punch in real life. You also get bombarded with statistics. Every thread ends the same way, with the usual other atheists throwing in the same ole' pictures of Jesus and a dinosaur etc. And there has been millions of them. They all go the same way: to the toilet. As I said, Atheists are like vegetarians or teetotalers in being completely annoying. A veggie will come to your house and go, ''I do not eat meat as I am better than you and smug and will lecture you on the error of your ways''. Same annoying pattern of behaviour. If you go to a teetotaler's house, they will serve you fuckin' juice because they are basically saying ''I am superior. You are an alcoholic. I will take my lifestyle option and force it on you to show you the error of your ways''. You leave clamoring for a pint and thoroughly depressed. Same pattern of behaviour as that demonstrated by atheists.I would much rather read posts by him about theism than see you waving your dick around again in any thread with the word "history" in the title Well this is a bunch of bollocks. Presumably if I did this, I would be making a bunch of posts with 'history' in the title. Look at my posting history - go on, go ahead: not one! But, if someone brings it up, I am going to respond. History is my scholarly field. It would be a bit like, football being brought up and Alan Hanson being quite.

tomfriend
Being quite what? Old? Stupidly accented? The people need to know. Also the problem with theists is they are forced to resort to banging on about being bullied, marginalised and atheists being 'annoying' in lieu of any kind of cohesive response to a reasoned argument debunking their entirely laughable, backwards-thinking, batshit insane, war-causing, world-ruining, brainwashing, joy-of-life sucking, fucking bullshit.
