Whats Your Top 3 Most Sleaziest, Raw, Unadulterated GNR Songs?

Recommended Posts

1. Rocket Queen

2. Nightrain

3. It's So Easy

Come to think of it Appetite as a whole is essentially the textbook definition of raw and sleazy.

From the other albums:

Lies: Nice Boys

UYI1: Perfect Crime

UYI2: You Could Be Mine

TSI: Black Leather

CD: Chinese Democracy (although I don't consider any CD track to be raw and sleazy)

1- Rocket Queen

Sexiest and sleaziest song ever; It really defined a genre in my opinion. Sleaze bands nowadays (speaking of US and Scandinavian sleaze scene) have taken a lot from this song alone.

2- Mr Brownstone

Aerosmith meets 70's funk with politically uncorrect lyrics. Nothing beats this.

3- It's so easy

You can smell the streets in which they were sleeping, you can hear people OD'ing and you can see half-naked girls just by humming this song in the shower

Lies : You're Crazy just for the incredible version they played on TV

UYI : Perfect Crime

UYII : Pretty Tied Up

TSI : Black Leather

CD : I love CD but there is nothing sleazy in it

1. You're Crazy (Acoustic)

2. Out Ta Get Me

3. Mr. Brownstone

Lies: YC

AFD: ISE

UYI 1: DNB

UYI 2: PTU

Holy shit, I never realised the paradox of Appetite.

On the surface, it's super dirty, nasty, and sexual. But if you look below that, there's this incredible musicianship, deep funk grooves, and an ear for subtly. Something you would never expect from a group that identified as "sleaze rock".

It's a rock 'n' roll album made by a bunch of music nerds who happened to be on lots of uppers. To note, Izzy's acoustic guitar, and harmonics in "Think About You"; Duff's and Steven's work on "Rocket Queen", "My Michelle", and "It's So Easy"; plus the funkiest cut on the record -- "Mr. Brownstone". Come to think of it, the original band (Steven included) were misunderstood geniuses in their own way.

Appetite For Destruction is like if....Sly & The Family Stone, Iggy Pop, and Lynard Skynard had a baby, and the delivering nurse was a raging Beach Boys fan.

Duff said in his book that he & Steven were always playing some funk (especially Sly and the Family Stone since the guy was living next to him).

AFD is great for me for 3 things :

- Mindblowing vocals

- Incredible solo

- Irresisitble groove from the rhythm session

That makes a perfect record for me (same goes for other records like Back in Black, the Black Album...)

Nightrain

Bad Obsession

Rocket Queen

Appetite - Rocket Queen

Lies - Yahhrr Crehhhzaayyy

UYI 1- Bad Obsession

UY2 - Pretty Tied Up

CD- I dunno IRS has a bit of rhythm, not much in way of riffs and groove on CD but I admire that, didn't try to replicate splendor of the past.

agreed with this post

Maybe Reckless Life was more sleazier on Lies

or Back Off Bitch on UYI 1

Out'ta get me deserves a honorable mention

hair of the dog

YESSSS!!!!

can anyone agree with me that this tune exemplifies 100% axl reaching his vocal peak as far as range, emotion and quality is concerned?

shame in 94 it appeared axl was at his fucking peak vocally then...nothing

it's off the fucking charts and goes toe to toe with freddie mercury as far as vocally being the LEAD INSTRUMENT

can anyone relate to that?
