School shooting in Seattle.

Shooter is dead, shot a girl who wouldn't go out with him supposedly and several others.

Lol America, gun control, etc. Is anyone surprised anymore? Parents coddle kids too much. Learn to deal with conflict and "bullying," and maybe a girl saying "no" won't push you over the edge.

Even with gun control, you can get anything you want as long as you have the connections and the money.

That's the way of the world everywhere not just in the US.

It sucks but that's life, so everyone needs to get used to it.

There's not security 24/7 anywhere. You have to try to be aware of your surroundings, but shit happens.

Very sad for the dead and their friends and families. I wonder if we'll know what set this guy off?

Because that's just what your average socially inadequate loner tends to have in spades? That's what I always say about these fuckers. They always seem to have loads of money and connections and would clearly have managed to get hold of the guns anyway.

Actually, sorry, I meant the exact opposite of the above. The typical school shooter archetype Is exactly the kind of person that proper gun laws would prevent from obtaining weapons. These fuckers would have no idea where to get hold of a gun if they weren't practically giving them away with happy meals as they are at the moment.

Thing is that even basic common sense reforms would make such a difference in a lot of these cases. When are Billy Bob and Cletus going to realise that you don't need a rocket launcher in your underwear drawer to be free? Actually scratch that. Have your rocket launchers and your tanks but at least throw the rest of us a bone and acquiesce to the occasional background check so we can at least pretend you're not a total fucking fruit loop.

I really don't know why this even makes the news anymore in all honesty. We all know how this goes by now. Big outrage for a few days and you'll see the politicians coming out with the same old shit for maybe another week or so. Then nothing will happen and the whole thing will repeat itself within six months or so. I mean why not simply save on filming costs and just play reruns of Sandy Hook a couple of times a year instead? :shrugs:

this kid seemed to be an avid hunter so access to any firearm probably wasnt that hard to get IMO.

the thing is right now midterms are in a little over a week, no politicians want to make any waves at this point and from what i have read and seen, obama is about to become a huge lame duck because even democrats are saying they are going to get spanked during the midterms.

i know it is hard for people outside of the us(or even some in the us) to understand but guns are a part of the country and are not going anywhere. the supreme court has ruled the chicago and washington dc handgun bans unconstitutional and it seems the NYC ban will be heading for the high court sooner or later. there are things that can be done, closing loopholes with gun shows, stronger background checks, but in all honesty i think their is a much deeper issue going on rather than it being about guns.

Says in the news that the murder weapon was a 0.4 Beretta. I guess he was a gangsta hunter eh?

Hunters and their social circles (for the most part) collect all types of guns as hobbies. I grew up around plenty of them and that's their thing.

.40 cal beretta is a pretty common gun. hunters usually have handguns as well and usually carry a handgun when hunting just in case if they get attacked by a bob cat or mountain lion.

Guns don't kill people. But it sure makes it a whole fucking lot easy for people to kill people.

Guns are not the weapon of choice by everyone ...

http://news.yahoo.com/officer-critical-stable-hatchet-attack-103129174.html

NEW YORK (AP) — A brazen daylight hatchet attack against a group of police officers on a busy New York street was a terrorist act by a reclusive Muslim convert who ranted online against America but had no clear ties to international extremists, the police commissioner said Friday.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/police-woman-beheaded-at-oklahoma-workplace/

MOORE, Okla. - Police say a woman who was killed by a co-worker at a food distribution center in suburban Oklahoma City was beheaded and that witnesses have said the suspect had been trying to convince co-workers to convert to Islam.

How is "people use other weapons too" even an argument? I'm really very sure that most (school) shootings did the damage they did because the guy had a gun instead of a hatchet or even a knife. Plus I dare you to show me figures that prove there are as many hatchet attacks in America as there are shootings.

All I'm saying is the elimination of guns won't stop the violence. Knives, hatchets, crossbows, cars, bombs, etc would just be used instead. And when it comes to violence committed by religious fanatics, guns most definitely are not the primary weapon of choice. :shrugs:

And here's another very recent example ...

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/apparent-terrorist-attack-kills-canadian-soldier-in-montreal/

MONTREAL - One of two Canadian soldiers hit by a car in an apparent terrorist attack has died of his injuries.

Quebec provincial police said he died early Tuesday. The suspect was shot by police, and later died, after he struck the two members of the Canadian military with his car in a city near Montreal.

Yes. Because only drastically cutting back on the violence is useless.

Just another dipshit who was probably told his whole life that he was wonderful and could achieve anything who goes berserk the first time he gets a dose of reality.

Exactly. Falls in line with what Linguini said about social media creating egomaniacs.

But we don't live in a perfect world, we live in a dangerous world where guns are often the only way to prevent people from being hurt and killed.

Really? Because the gun-related murder figures in every other modern western country seem to disagree with you.
